I was afraid to say the BOMB word when people asked me what I wanted it for LOL!!! So I said bath fizzies and they still were confused. > Ok I went to 2 Walmarts and Kroger and I couldnt find Citric Acid. Guest guest
Where the heck did you find it in Walmart? I looked all over in the pharmacy and of course no one there was any help. Did you get pure citric acid or just vitamin C tablets? I recently read that you can find it near Pectin in the baker's isle of the grocery store but I haven't looked yet. Guest guest
answered private Lucinda citric acid Does anyone know any good places to get citric acid at a decent price either online or at stores? I paid 2.50 for a very small container of citric acid at walmart. -- (Want to make fizzies)
Guest guest
In our walmart, there is a very small candy making section with all the flavor oils, and molds, and in all that stuff was a very small container of citric acid (guess it's used in candy making). But it looked like it would only contain a tablespoon or 2 of citric acid. yes, i had read somewhere that it is also used in canning, but have yet to find it in canning sections at walmart or grocery stores. -- > Where the heck did you find it in Walmart? Guest guest
> Where the heck did you find it in Walmart? It might be with the canning supplies. Pectin would also be with the canning supplies. It's usually nowhere near the bakers aisle. In our Walmart, the canning section has it's own aisle. CJ
Guest guest
Hi: You can order it from the pharmacy and if they don't stock it, they will order it for you. But if you want a good deal, then go to the internet and do a search for citric acid because there are many places that sell it at a much cheaper price. Guest guest
It's called " fruit fresh " or " Mrs. Wages fruit preserver, " I believe. It's used to keep fruit from turning brown when it's cut. Don't look for " citric acid, " look for " freshness preserver, " or something like that. Mrs. Wages is in a yellow can, I think, about the size of a juice can. patty > Where the heck did you find it in Walmart? I looked all over in the pharmacy > and of course no one there was any help. Guest guest
Citric acid puts the sour in sour lollipops and stuff like that. It's also used to coat those sour jelly candies for extra pucker power.
