Safety of Convection Ovens

I received a toaster oven as a gift, but it is more than a toaster. It has the

heat bars on it like a toaster oven, but it also has a fan that blows and it

reminds me of the sound a microwave makes. I am afraid to use it because of

that. I don't know what power generates is generated by that fan. Does anyone

have any insights into convection ovens?

If I could turn that fan off, I would feel OK about using it.

There's nothing to worry about. The fan is simply moving air around the inside

of the oven, which makes it more efficient at heating the food.
