Correction: 150 mg Xolair every 4 weeks. My pulmo and allergist do not

know and I consulted many doctors and they are all mystified.

When I am having a particularly bad session with sneezing and drainage, my

doctor has me take zantac, too.  I keep it on hand.  I have never heard of an

itch inside the chest, but I can feel your misery....Hope they find something

that helps it!

Hi,

This is probably an idea you're well past, but just in case no one has

mentioned it, here goes; try Zantac. The body makes multiple kinds of histamine

in response to an allergen and regular antihistamines only cover histamine 1. My

pulmo/allergist has me take zantac (150mg/dose) every 4 hours when I start

having an allergic reaction and need hydroxyzine too. Just an idea, I hope it

helps!

I am curious about the condition affecting your muscles in your chest? Is it

fibro or some sort of myopathy?

Have you considered that it might not be a lung issue, but rather an issue

that's manifesting in your lungs, if you get my meaning.

I have bad chest pain sometimes that make it very hard to breathe and feels for

all the world like my lungs aren't working at all - Turns out it's a different

health condition affecting the muscles in my chest and has nothing to do with my

lungs.

I've also experienced itchy lungs, but not to the degree you mention. My body

over-reacts to random stimuli and makes parts of me itch, ache, burn, feel like

I'm being bitten or zapped, or any combination of the above. All thanks to

fibromyalgia. (I hope you don't have that.)

I would recommend three things; 1. Discuss alternate causes with a doctor who

doesn't specialize in lungs. 2. Look into to supplements that calm the system.

and 3. Consider increasing your Xolair. Which is, of course, something else to

discuss with your doctor.

Good luck and let us know if you find out anything.

Thank you for all the posts. My Xolair dosage was determined by my IGE

test some years ago and my pulmo would not change it. Instdesign

described it close enough but mine is long lasting. One of my doctors

prescribed Neurontin since it helps nerve pain and it may help itch. I

took it in 2008 before the itch finally passed in Jan of 2009. This

time I have taken it for over 2 months and has not helped. I take

Zantac daily for acid reflux.

Hello Xolair Group. I have suffered from the intense itching for years and in

the past  I had to take hydroxizine every night for the itching. It made me

able to function daily. The itching only really gets bad if I am late taking my

Xolair shots now. Since taking Xolair, the intense itching is a lot better and I

only need the hydroxizing occasionally.
