Guest guest
I have mixed the MCT oil with food. You cannot taste it and as for me, I didn't notice any great improvements taking coco oil [neither just cooking with it or taking by the spoonfull ] until I added the MCT. I don't drink milk, lactose intolerant, but have no problem with cream/ in coffee and tea and the occasional bowl of cereal. Can't afford grass fed beef, but I do eat organic range free eggs. Love coconut cream and if your a chocoholic, I recommend Artisana Cacao Bliss [although you can make it from the coco cream and raw cacao yourself]. I get mine at iHerb.com. Its awesome and low sugar if that is a concern to you. Artisanas coconut cream is my favorite so far. Started with the CO about 4 years ago, wandering around the internet looking for a diet that might help me feel better. Moved to North Carolina 3 years ago from a local vege desert [living in texas too close to the refineries, bad toxic]  and am totally enjoying locally grown fresh veggies and fruits in season. Tend to change the diet in the winter because the store bought veggies in winter taste awful. I may be fat intolerant as far as LCTs go and my health is such that the MCT oil, being more concentrated, helps better than sticking to coco oil and butter. And the IBS symtoms have finally improved.  Also need to loose weight and even Atkins didn't work for me, but the MCTs seem to be allowing weight loss. ________________________________ From: Duncan Crow <duncancrow@...> Coconut Oil Sent: Tue, July 19, 2011 11:13:59 AM Subject: Re: Start Talking about Coconut Oil Then  My main fat intake is gratefully derived from nature's only obligatory food for mammals, milk. I started using coconut oil in 2002 before I met my second wife, following an oils search precipitated by a wholesale salesman's enthusiasm for rice bran oil over other cooking oils. I learned from my research that it's healthy to use some coconut oil as part of your good fats but I'm not about to make it my main oil over butter. My wife doesn't prefer the flavour and I have not got around to trying flavourless MCT oil or RBD coconut oil in our food. As to diet, we eat a lot of meat and veggies, and the reduced carb diet allows us to cheat and binge periodically with a carb snack, commercial burger, bottle of cider or some other junky starch- or sugar-rich food. all good, Duncan > > > Obama is almost as far from being a communist /socialist/ Progressive > > > as Ron is from being a Liberal. > > > > One really shouldn't speak about that of which they are ignorant. > > > > Ron is a pure liberal, in the classical/Jeffersonian sense. > > > > Obama is a pure, unadulterated communist/socialist, and if you disagree, > > you're a moron. > > > > > Obama leans to the right > > > > Rotflmao! > > > > > and congress is forcing him even farther right. > > > > Because of the grass-roots/teaparty movement started by Ron (not > > the now misappropriated/commandeered bogus movement that the talking > > heads now refer to as the teaparty movement). > > > > > > >

Guest guest
I know everyone is different... but so far I have gotten quite a few ideas from the couple of you that have responded and of course you have the Cacao Bliss..  Where do you get the coconut milk? I have tried a few brands. Most ok, but nothing really great. Can't get into sauerkraut for more than an occasional bite, but I do like beets. I am also experimenting on my nephew, he is 35 and has been a diabetic for 10 years or so and has never really controlled it or had a clue how to eat.. He is amazed at how good he is feeling and how good food can taste and its only been about 2 weeks. And his sugar levels were coming down until he ate crap the last two days and check his glucose this am. He was very disappointed and volunteered to have only one " free meal " every two weeks instead of every week. We shall see... ________________________________ From: Dolores <dgk@...> Coconut Oil Sent: Tue, July 19, 2011 1:27:45 PM Subject: Re: Start Talking about Coconut Oil Then  Hi , We're all different so I'm not sure that anything is a cure-all that will work for everyone. For me coconut oil has helped with both low thyroid and weight loss/maintenance. It does give me more energy and warmth. I don't seem to need a HUGE amount, however. I cook with it, put a tsp. in my coffee and tea, and like it drizzled over veggies. I also use it for skin care (great for removing make-up) and it makes a great vaginal lubricant :-). I also use some coconut cream in hot chocolate and have lately been using the SO-Delicious Coconut Milk (the original with only 50 calories a cup and 0 sugars). I also use VOO in salads and a little organic butter on the occasional piece of rye bread. I pretty much adhere to a low carb diet, however, with lots of raw cheese (I'm a cheeseaholic :-), sauerkraut, kiminchi, sour cream, yogurt, whey protein (concentrate) shakes, eggs, chicken, tilapia, pork chops, wild Alaskan canned salmon, and make a great chili with grass fed ground beef (can't afford the steaks!) - plus lots of veggies and a little fruit. My son is in the processes of planning a garden so we can grow our own veggies as I make a really yummy gazpacho (cold soup w/tomatoes, cucumber, onions, garlic, etc. plus a great cold beet borscht. Beets are SO good for you: http://www.whfoods.com/genpage.php?tname=foodspice & dbid=49 And thanks for the tip on the Artisana Cacao Bliss! I'll have to try that. Guest guest
Duncan, I am currently trying a lifestyle dietary change for 45 days (Fat Wars). My intake is 40% carbs, 30% fat and 30% protein. The carb intake is (I am trying) to consist of just veggies. No grains, etc. it is difficult for me personally, because I dislike most veggies. My question is, should I just decrease the carb intake, and increase fat and protein? I went off the deep end last year, and have much weight to lose. Thanks, as alwaysŠ Nerio My main fat intake is gratefully derived from nature's only obligatory food for mammals, milk. The cows that make my milk are grass fed. Yes - the less carbs, the better. Whole raw veggie juice (with all of the fiber) is best if you're gonna eat veggies... I finally found a blender that doesn't 'whip' lots of air into the veggies (Ninja Kitchen System), but haven't done much with it yet as far as veggies go yet, because I still have about 20lbs to go (lost a total of about 60lbs so far doing the low/no carb thing,
Guest guest
I think the optimal mix in my mind is a regime like this - ~60-80 net carbs per day, mostly from raw/lightly steamed veggies, especially leafy ones, and maybe 1 serving of lower carb fruit like berries. The remainder should be a mix of fat and protein, ideally about 50-60% of your intake is fat, made up of good healthy saturated fat (heavy cream, butter, VCO, bacon fat), and perhaps a bit mono unsaturated (VOO), occassionally supplemented with some unroasted nuts and seeds. The remainder of your diet should be good protein like eggs, and meat, fish, as raw as can stand. Very few, if any grains, and the occasional few squares of Green and Blacks 85% cocoa bar. If you're not exercising you would probably want to decrease fat intake a little since it's so caloric. Your body uses quite a bit of energy itself to digest protein so a bit higher intake over fat would be ok if you can't burn all the fat calories. Ultimate ratio (at least for me) is around 50-70% fat, 10-20% veggies, the rest protein, and eat when hungry, not on a time schedule. Mix in whey protein, some inulin and a few apple cidar vinegar cocktails a day, maybe some MSM, get plenty of rest, adequate sun and you'll likely be well on your way to optimal health. I would also suggest 2-3 high intensity, short duration (30 minute) work outs a week. Intensity is relative, so what ever you can handle. Try to include some sprinting for 30 seconds at a crack, 5-10 times for one of those workouts. If the intensity isn't there you'll likely not generate any growth hormone, which will help shed pounds too. You'll drop pounds quickly, and will ultimately be healthier long term. That's my 2 cents, and my lifestyle. yg On Tue, Jul 19, 2011 at 1:50 PM, Nerio DeLeon <nerio@...> wrote: > ** > > > Duncan, > > I am currently trying a lifestyle dietary change for 45 days (Fat Wars). Guest guest
Thanks yg. I will tinker with my ratios. And I will stick with the brocolli, snow peas and asparagus as my veggies. I also have one or two shakes a day with berries and whey. I miss the grains though. I am also exercising again, it seems to be helping. I have never let myself go like this. I feel good, just don¹t like being so overweight, it cant be healthy. Unemployment, bad dietary choices and alcohol are the culprits. Guest guest
I had to look up oil pulling. I might give it a try.   Actually I gave it a try with the CO for 10 minutes. Why would I want to do this? I don't quite get the reasoning behind it. However for cleaning teeth I have been using a 50/50 mix of bentonite clay and baking soda and it got rid of all my plaque. Which is good because I would rather have a root canal than get my teeth cleaned. I can stand  Recently, every once in a while I soak my tooth brush in listerine and then use my mix. It works well for me. ________________________________ From: Dolores <dgk@...> Coconut Oil Sent: Tue, July 19, 2011 3:21:23 PM Subject: Re: Start Talking about Coconut Oil Then  Believe it or not I get it at Wallmart. Guest guest
I can tell you how to lose weight. Wear magnets. I found this out after about 5 weeks of wearing the set in the Wellness Kit that I bought at biomagscience.com. I was not wearing them to lose weight, but that is sure what happened for me. If you look that direction, I will share what various protocols gave me for wearing them and why to guide you and help you understand how this was the result. ________________________________ From: Tanstaafl <tanstaafl@...> Â On 2011-07-19 3:53 PM, Nerio DeLeon wrote: > Wow, how long did it take you to lose 60lbs? My girlfriend gets bad migranes, and has some pain management issues too. >What did you use them for? Oh, and how much weight did you lose? I had seen a Neurolink doctor from Dec to Feb for weekly treatments. Neurolink is very similar to accupressure. Works to activate the brain/body part connections to get the flow of energy going and get things working right that are sluggish and out of balance. When I learned about 's magnets in March, I was amazed to learn that they would do exactly the same thing. So I contacted and asked him how to wear the magnets to do what I felt was the most productive treatment I had received from my Neurolink doc. I wanted to boost my immune system. He told me how to start, then I contacted him after three weeks and he tweeked my positioning of them and in about 4 or 5 weeks, I dropped 8.5 lbs. That does not sound like much, but now I weigh 101.5. I have lost a total of 14 lbs since I started to detox four years ago. I now understand that even skinny people live in this world and are full of toxins that need to be flushed. The magnets energized the necessary elimination organs of my body so that my body could do just that with what it does not need. >If I decide to go that way, can I contact you off list? Absolutely. I am still learning the magnets myself, but I'll help as much as I can. is always willing to help, too. I have conversed with him a bunch of times so far. He has his own group called magnettherapytoday and he also checks in on the Crock_Lakhovsky group. He'll answer any questions on either of those two groups. He advertises sales on those two groups, too.

Guest guest
In addition to what Dee might say for you, tell him to brush with peroxide every day. I will let the peroxide soak in my mouth every day if possible. It will kill bacteria, fungus, virus. This will clean his gums and teeth. Another thing that absolutely works in a way that I never would have known unless I had tried it is wearing magnets. I bought the Wellness Kit from Biomagscience.com and have been wearing them different ways and his book tells you how to wear them for lots of different ailments, including tooth issues. Call him and talk to him. He is very willing to help people. Everyone should have a set of these magnets. Don't let the dentist carve him up. ________________________________ From: claire <forzooks@...> Â Dee, I am wondering if you could expand a bit on that.
