What is it that when some of us get old, our toenails get so tough it is

hard to clip them?? DH says his are like that, and I remember my Mom's

being the same way. What would cause this, any ideas. Really, it is hard

enough to get your leg up there to cut them at our age!! : D

Meantime, my fingernails are more soft and tear easily.

The condition of our body on the outside is reflective of what is going on

inside. If we are the picture of health outside, it is because all is well

inside. Start fighting fungus if you have not thought about this. DMSO and

coconut oil are what I am using right now. When I get to a health food store, I

will also get tea tree oil. I spread these things on my feet morning and night

and it is helping alot to bring my bad foot back to being clear. One toe was 1/4

taken over by fungus, so I have been cutting the nail back so I can treat the

fungus directly with the DMSO and CO. When I was drinking alkalized water every

day, I had no foot fungus issues. And my feet did not hurt anywhere when I would

do a reflexology treatment on them. :-(

Now when I go north to visit my dad, I guess I wlll have a new job when I am

there. He has said his toe nails are too hard for him to maintain. It is

probably because his middle won't let him bend long enough to get it done

anymore. So, I will do a foot soak on him first. I will have an ionizing foot

spa that I will use to first soften his nails. Then I will cut them. But for

someone who does not have a foot treatment thingie, just soak your feet first in

a good detox water. Peroxide, salt, vinegar or whatever you know is good to use

as a soak.

Fungus?? Eeewww. I thought that the nails would turn very yellow, then.

I will try the soak, and do have tea tree oil. I've been putting coconut

oil on them, but that seems to be drying my skin.

Thanks for the comeback!!

Hi, re the question below, one can try rubbing coconut oil into the nail

morning and evening...seems to work for some to keep toenails flexible (and

fingernails in good shape too).

That oil should not be drying. I would watch that to be sure. As for the fungus,

it can take on many forms, anywhere on your body. My left foot never showed any

signs of fungus until the last 24 months or so. I figure it was stored in my leg

and as my alkalized water cleaned out my lymphatic system, I began to see stuff

start appearing in my left foot. The first thing I saw was poison ivy! I

haven't been on the farm for 25 years! Then after that cleared, fungus started

coming out of that foot that was totally different from what I have had on my

right foot for decades. The tips of the toes of my left foot were all that would

be affected. Their condition would range from a light red and slightly swollen,

to red hot like fire and burning and very swollen. My right foot has gotten

typical athletes foot. But the nails of both feet also show their own signs of

what is going on inside me. Any condition that diverts from healthy, strong

nails indicates fungus.

Might it have something to do with the toenails being the farthest point away

from the heart? As one gets older, circulation to extremities diminishes,

especially in diabetics.

Perhaps that's why nails get thicker/tougher. They don't get the

signals/nutrition/metabolism to keep soft & thin like they used to.

And skin goes from soft, thick & pliable to thin & brittle as we age.

Hormonal proportional manufacturing changes?

I've been trying that, so we'll give it some time and with that, and the tea

tree, etc. it should help. I've found that rubbing olive oil on my

fingernails seems to help them grow, too.

Actually some vicks vaporub may help too...

apply it after a shower and / or after trimming toe nails...

it has thyme oil in it ~ a known antifungal...

I fint the oil that is called cajetput is also from the melaleuca tree...a

different variety than the oil called tea tree...both are in the same family,

but the cajeput oil is less harsh,

or so it seems to me, on the skin.

Lower elastin and collagen levels.Same as bone health. Harder and more

brittle as we age.

lower elastin and collagen levels can be improved thru natural / organic vita C

- from rose hips...

Also, I must apologize...my tip on using vicks may be less effective than i

thought as I just read the most recent jar I purchased...the formulation they

were using has changed...

and oil of thyme is not included now...if you have an old jar...look and

read....it may have been before the change in formula.

Don't you just love it?...corporations are our friends...NOT!

I was reading your email, and wanted to tell you that I use Cell food

drops, not just in water like they suggest, but I have used it on my skin, (

just a drop about 2 times a day) where it looked like I had start raised age

spots, (as the dermatologist stated) or the start of a basil cell carcinoma

skin cancer, or under one toe nail that seemed a little funny, like it could

have a start to fungus. And these places eventually went away. They don't

like oxygen.

It naturally provides the highest levels of oxygen and hydrogen to the body,

helping support overall improved energy, endurance and natural health.

Also there is a product called Oxy E, made by a bio chemist, that can work

like that. Sports & Stress Mkt. 800-872-0073

All connective tissue is best dealt with using MSM, IMHO. I doubt that

you could ever get enough DMSO into them (you are not actually using the

DMSO to make your tissue pliable by your description). It is all about

getting enough of it to make it happen.
