Guest guest
Juniper is one of my biggies though Xolair helped reduce my allergic asthma so I could increase the desensitization shots and over the years, It hasn't been as bad. My eyes are still gunky though this time of year. I still can smell gin (made from the juniper berries) far better than most people and can't drink it as it bothers my stomach. - in Northern VA From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of mister_manganese Sent: Tuesday, March 01, 2011 5:24 AM Subject: [ ] Achoo! It's late February and something is blowing in here (SE PA). I've just been hit with some nasty hay fever. So I've done some research and found that much to my surprise the likely culprit is Junipers, like Eastern Red Cedar, that release really fine and highly allergenic pollen in winter. Since taking Xolair for asthma, most of my allergies have dropped to a mild annoyance, but every so often I get hit hard with something in late winter or very early spring. One year I was a mess when the maples bloomed, but some years I get nailed earlier. Anyone else getting hit late winter? I'm just trying to get some feedback if my suspicions regarding Junipers is well-founded.
Guest guest
I didn't know that about Junipers, but now I'm even happier that we chopped down a bunch of them at our shore house. Here I just thought they were ugly and overgrown. Now I have a more legitimate reason for having gotten rid of them! Guest guest
Yeah. No junipers here. There is 2 feet of snow on the ground. About 3F with the windshill. Welcome to Canada... ________________________________ From: Janet Boss <janet@...> Sent: Tue, March 1, 2011 7:53:46 AM Subject: Re: [ ] Achoo! Guest guest
I'm in SW PA & I've been complaining about allergy symptoms for the last few weeks. I've always blamed late winter symptoms on Junipers as they are everywhere around here > > It's late February and something is blowing in here (SE PA).
