Guest guest
The reason why anti-biotics are devastaing to the immune system is because 80 ~ 90% of your immune system is in your gut... anti-biotics are non selective - killing good as well as bad flora in the gut... leading to more dysbiosis... anti = against /// biotic = life... anti biotic is against life...we horpe that it kils / eliminates bad bugs in the system. But the reality is that it kills both good and bad and that is why after a run of ANTIBIOTICS, ONE NEEDS TO REBUILD THE GOOD FLORA IN THE GUT. Guest guest
Yes, I know that. And I'm sure that Elaine does too. We're just wondering how " Tanstassfl " is able to equate pharmaceutical antibiotics with the antibiotic, antiviral, antifungal, and antiparasitic properties of coconut oil - which is a natural food product used for centuries by people living in coconut growing areas of the world. Guest guest
In research in the elderly, the immune system improved as the gut flora was improved. The research used inulin to improve the gut flora. all good, Duncan > > >>> We've already had a discussion on the immune system before. Hey, " Duhloress " - a novel idea... don't stick your nose in where it wasn't invited. Oh - and learn how to read with *comprehension* - your flawed understanding of what I said above being the evidence in support of my suggestion. Guest guest
, , Let's forget Elaine's question for a moment. Can I ask one of my own regarding your post? Here is your original post. >>>>> On 2011-03-14 2:40 PM, Bruce Fife wrote: >>>>> We've already had a discussion on the immune system before. My question would be if by that comment you meant to equate the antibiotic, antifungal, and antiparasitic properties with the known effects of pharmaceutical antibiotics. I do think that anyone would deduce that from your comment. Dee

You obviously missed (still miss?) the significance of the the first three words... Here endeth the (free) lesson. If you want more, I'm awaiting some pieces of eight... Guest guest
You funny, Seriously though, I noted the same thing with Dee in the last couple of years and just posted it in my last reply to her. Reading and comprehension are important in health IMO, a serious matter that goes way beyond semantics and ego. We can all read and spin a yarn but we can not all understand and compile salient facts of an argument. It's OK; there's room for everyone, and health professionals at least have a way in the forums to discuss the data and results with each other. Some people participate and so on, probably the majority do well enough to just read, save links and take notes, and a few delete eveything they don't grasp right away, and then lip off the poster. Room for everyone. all good, Duncan > >> Hey, " Duhloress " - a novel idea... don't stick your nose in where it > >> wasn't invited. > >> > >> Oh - and learn how to read with *comprehension* - your flawed > >> understanding of what I said above being the evidence in support of my > >> suggestion. > > > Well why not enlighten us then . > > Sure... my fee for teaching someone how to read is $300/hr... > > But I only take gold or silver, U.S. coin... >

" So while it may be true pharmaceutical antibiotics are devastating to the immune system, coconut oil isn't devastating to the immune system. Your comment to Bruce Fife just seemed inflammatory, argumentative and not discussion provoking. It also demonstrated little respect for his research. Dee has no reading comprehension issues. It would be best to not suggest such things, instead of explaining yourself, when your comments are questioned. elaine > >>> We've already had a discussion on the immune system before. Guest guest
It's a shame Duncan..... your condescending comments take away from your contributions to the forum. If you and others, like tanstaafl, were truly interested in education and promoting discussion, emotion and personal attacks would be hard to find. You realize it is a privilege to help people don't you? How many people do you think ignore your posts because of your harshness at times, and miss out on something valuable? Doesn't sound like a win-win situation. Thank you. elaine > > >> Hey, " Duhloress " - a novel idea... don't stick your nose in where it > > >> wasn't invited. > > >> > > >> Oh - and learn how to read with *comprehension* - your flawed > > >> understanding of what I said above being the evidence in support of my > > >> suggestion. > > > > > Well why not enlighten us then . > > > > Sure... my fee for teaching someone how to read is $300/hr... > > > > But I only take gold or silver, U.S. coin... > > >
