steriods sometimes makes me feel that way. do you have high blood pressure? it

could also be panic attacks, i have had to be put on something for depression

which controls the same problems that you are having. love rita

[ ] question

HI guys

I was wondering if anyone might be able to help me. For the last 3

1/2 weeks I have been having severe headaches and very fast heartbeats

with pain every so often. I have seen my family doctor she was

leaning towards high blood pressure added a medicine plus had me get

an echocardiogram says the echo looks okay can't find any reasons for

my blood pressure and very fast pulse resting I am at 115. Is there a

possiblability that it can be RA related I forgot to ask the rhuemy

yesterday when I saw him. All I know is I don't feel right and wish

they would tell me something instead of try this for a month and see

what happens.

Thanks for any help

yes i have had high blood pressure for quite some time been controlled well by

meds till I started with these headaches and everything, she did think it was

the steriods because I just take 5 mgs a day and have for a long time, would

panic attacks get worse if you are walking around or carrying something a liitle

heavy. Thanks for the info she added a beta blocker today because I am still

having so much problems with it but I don't know figure I would give it a few

days and if I don't feel any better call her back

Hi Angie,

Did you ever get your thyroid tested? My daughter had those symptoms

but she also lost 70 pounds (without dieting)... I insisted she have

her thyroid tested because I had the same symptoms.. It was an over-

active thyroid in both cases! An over-active thyroid has all those

symptoms. I also have RA but the thyroid problem developed before

the RA. My daughter is close to 50 years of age and without medical

insurance so she has not been tested for RA yet. The thyroid is

being treated with medication at this time and she is feeling much

better!

Hi Carey,I had my implants for 20 years before being explanted last year. My symptoms had no rhyme or reason. Some were constant, some came and went. The only thing I know for sure is I've never felt as good as when I finally got them out.Hugs,TraciStottlemyer71@... wrote: before any of you were explanted, were your symptoms constant or intermittent. i have weeks without any swelling or pain and it seems like every 3-4 weeks my symptoms get

Carey . . . For most women things change . .. but usually on a downslope. A lot depends on diet, sleep, stress, fatigue, activity, mood, etc . .. Keeping a daily journal can help you understand some of the fluctuation, but not all.Hugs,Rogene

Sandy,

It might be better to go ahead and do the coffee enemas on a regular

basis (can you do them once a week?) It will help hydrate the body

with fluids (you will go to the bathroom more right after the coffee

enema, which should help your kidneys), and get rid of the toxic

bowel. Drink lots of water. Flushing the kidneys will help. If you

definitely have a kidney infection that needs antibiotics, the

doctors should give that to you. Otherwise, can you eat raw garlic?

That will kill things.

If the coffee enemas helped, then why stop them?

Sandy,I agree with Patty,Keep that stuff moving out of you . . . Those organisms that get killed off must be eliminated. And eat those probiotics during, and after Levaquin . . . Very important! It's a very high potency antibiotic. It will knock down fungal organisms now . . . but it kills off the good ones too. You'll need to really work at getting some good organisms back in your body when you're through.Hugs,Rogene Re: QUESTION

I agree with Patty and Rogene, and it is so

important to keep the crap moving out of

you ! literally ! ! when you have that in you,

it will grow a whole new group or nasties........

so, it is so important to keep it moving on out !

Sandy,

My holistic chiro has me taking Bulk-K to move my bowels. It is a

powder natural fiber and it doesn't taste bad at all. It works. I

finally have a regular BM.

Thank you for answering.. I dont see the rheumy again till august. I know

they usally raise two pills

at a time usually he only raised me one. He wants to go slow as i had a lot

of weight loss before all this.

I was on prednisone about six months. I figured i would hurt and be achey.

If i still feel like this in two weeks im going to call him as see what he

says. Kids are off for the summer soon, so im hoping the added piull kicks in

soon. Thanks

Don't know...just trying anything that I think might be useful. Suggestions are

much appreciated! So far I've taken 2 stone free tablets and drank about 4 oz

of grapefruit juice.

question

Is grapefruit juice good to drink during a gallbladder attack?

Hi Heidi: I had this happen to me once, when my RA reared its ugly

normal. It scared the h--- out of me too!!

I am glad you are seeing your PCP this week, and your Rheumy in 2 weeks.

Between both drs. I am sure they will be able to help you, and also

diagnose what is going on with your hands and fingers. I swear, if it's

not one thing, then it is another.

I am still doing good, and will be off the Pred. by Aug. 9th. My RA is

still very quiet, which is just amazing to me. This is the first time

in almost 6 years that I have ever gone this long without pain, etc. I

am down to taking 2.5mgs. of Pred. every 3rd day. I am very grateful

for all of this, however long it lasts.

I leave Fri. for my trip home to the Cape. I am spending the first week

with my best friend, who has the week off!!! !!!!! My other weeks

I will be spending with my daughter, my 2 new granddaughters ages 2 and

1, and my son-in-law in Mansfield. I will still take it one day at a

still.

Wishing you and everyone pain free days. Just such wonderful, caring

people here....... I am glad I found you all.

Hi Heidi,

I have had this happen with my feet, my toes specifically, and once

with my hand. I did the same thing as you, flattened the digits out so

the sight of it wasn't so freaky. Oddly enough, I never bothered to

ask my dr about it. Since it disappeared and occurs so rarely I guess

I didn't think about it.

Let us know what your doctor says!

assume! <g>) that it had something to do with inflammation of the

tendons (often caused by RA).

Hi Heidi: I had this happen to me once, when my RA reared its ugly

head. My Rheumy gave me 2 Cortisone shots, and then started me on 60mg.

of Prednisone. It took 2 weeks for my fingers and hands to return to

I will still take it one day at a

time, and rest as much as I can. As you know, the tiredness does me in,

still.

Wishing you and everyone pain free days. Just such wonderful, caring

people here....... I am glad I found you all.

Hugs and Prayers, Barbara

When I was on just mtx, my little finger on my right hand became

crooked. The top part curves in toward the left. My rheumy at the time

said that the tendon on one side of the finger was damaged by the RA

and caused the tendon on the other side to pull it crooked. Or

something like that, anyway.

Congratulations, Barbara! I would say that you have it made by now. I

was told by a doctor (not a rheumy) that our bodies make something

similar, cortisol, but I forgot how much he said was equivalent to how

many mgs. of prednisone. We have to wean ourselves off prednisone, and

then the body I believe is supposed to resume its production of

cortisol.

Thanks Sue!! I have heard that too. Time will tell, and I am praying

that I will continue to feel good. My feet and ankles were the worst,

and it is just so wonderful to stand on my feet, and not feel any pain

at all.

My Rheumy said this is due to all the RA meds. finally doing their job.

My last blood work showed I was in a bad flare, but I have no visual or

physical signs of it. I thank God, and for all the prayers my family,

friends, and everyone here, have said for me.

Praying and wishing everyone here will have pain free days.

Hi Heidi:

Nice to hear from you.  I know how strange things can scare us.  After all,

these diseases are very scarey!!  I hope it was just a one time thing that

happened.  I pray it all goes better for you, and you have pain free days ahead.

I will keep you in my prayers Heidi.

I love Mansfield as it's a cute and great town.  Send the rain here to S.W.

Florida.... we need it so badly.  Plenty of thunder and lightening, but very

little rain in several months.

Hugs,  Barbara

Heidi,

I have had that happen to me in my hands, feet and jaw. Also your my

hand and fingers would lock up and i would have to get up and run

them under warm water and rub as i did that. Sometimes it would take

a bit. Good Luck and hopefully it will not happen much..

Also Barbara,

I seen you are down to a small amount of prednisone. What kind of

other meds are you taking ? I have been on a min of 5 mg and max of

15mg a day for the last 24 years..

Hi Pamela: Here are the RA meds I take: MTX .8 inject. 1x week,

Placquinil 400 mg a day, Sulfasalazine 3000 mg. a day, Pred. 2.5mg

every 3rd. day, and Leucovorin 10 mg 12 hours after my MTX shot.

I also take Actonal cal. 1x a week, and 2 Cal/vit. D everyday. I

have been on Pred. since the day I got diagnosed with RA. At times, I

took as much as 60 mg. a day.

I tried many times to get off Pred., but was never able to do so until

now. I was on 10 mg for a very long time, so I have done the decreasing

from 10 mg to 2.5 a day over a 2 month period.

Pamela, Have you ever been of the Pred?

I hope this info. helps. Wishing you pain free days.

Hugs, Barbara

[ ] question

Hi guys,

I have a question for you all. My RA and fibro has been under control

since my doctor switched me to arava and added nuerontin. My question

is does anyone have problems with uncontrolled blood pressure, heart

racing and severe headaches. I am currently seeing a new primary care

doctor and he got the blood pressure down some but it is still high.

Can all this be related to the ra and everything or what. Please let

me know what you guys think as I am sick of feeling like this. Thanks

alot for everything

Thanks

Angie
