Guest guest
It wouldn't hurt to get your GP to look at it, or even a nurse. If you do need to see your Rheumy about it they would be the ones who could push you in earlier. I hope it isn't going to drop either, lol. Guest guest
Anyone; I have an infection and have to take antibiotics. I know I am not suppose to take my humira injection. Guest guest
Hi Clora: I know you have been sick for awhile, and I am glad you are on a RX to help clear up your infection. Maybe you should call your Rheummy to see what she wants you to do about your RA meds. When I have been sick with URI's, and Bronchitis, I never stop my RA meds. But that is me. I hope your meds. will finally knock this infection out of your body, so you can feel better soon, and enjoy your Christmas with your family. As always, you are in my thoughts and prayers. Please take good care of yourself, and remember I care about you. God Bless you in all ways, and wishing you pain free days. Guest guest
Clora, So sorry that you have an infection. The safest thing to do is to call your rheumatologist and ask about whether you should stop your DMARDs. Guest guest
Hi Clora, I've currently got a throat infection, our rural nurse prescribed antibiotics and I was able to continue taking other meds as normal (sulfasalazine, prednisone, voltaren & vit D). Unfortunately it would seem my infection is viral as the antibiotics haven't helped, so I'm waiting to either get better or get worse at the moment. Had sore throat since last Monday & a fever since last wednesday & I'm getting really really tired now. Only 3 more days of work then I can have a day off, work a 1/2 day & then 5 off. Yay!!!ZZZzzz... Sharon of Oz > > Anyone; > > I have an infection and have to take antibiotics. I know I am not > suppose to take my humira injection. Guest guest
Hi Clora - I'm sorry to hear you have an infection, but glad you got to the doctors to get it under control before it got worse. I'm not sure about the SSZ, Plaquenil and Lyrica. Maybe you should call your Rheumy to be sure. I'm surprised your PC didn't tell you - they should be aware of all of those kinds of interactions. Maybe even your pharmacist could tell you for sure. Best of luck........Doreen > > Anyone; > > I have an infection and have to take antibiotics. I know I am not > suppose to take my humira injection. Guest guest
Barbara and group; Thanks so much Barbara. I called my rheumy. She said I could take my plaqunil, lyrcia and sulfazaline, but I had to skip a dose of my humira injection. So I can take that in about 10 days. You are always in my thoughts and prayers also. I pray for the group every night. I love you all so much. Since I quit smoking I can breathe a lot better. It was hard at first but I knew I had no choice to quit so I am accepting it a lot better now. big gentle hugs Clora ************************************************************** > > Hi Clora: > > I know you have been sick for awhile, and I am glad you are on a RX to > help clear up your infection. Guest guest
Hi Cooky, Wow! You made me hungry. I miss my New York apt. I lived two blocks from a polish neighborhood and haven't had a decent perogie in months. I wish you lived near me. I would love to learn how to make them fresh. That and everything else you mentioned! Yum! For those who are avoiding white flour, is there a substitute gluten free flour? Take care & Happy New Year. Now for the serious question. You say your joints hurt. With me it is not the joints that hurt, but the entire muscle. The term, pain in the ass took on new meaning for me. I hurt in the long leg muscles, the glutes, arms and neck. All the joints are doing fine. Blood tests show that I have inflammation. Am on MP, so I take Minocin 100mg every other day, and Zith every 10th day. In Jan or Feb, I will start back on the oral clindamycin, thereby including all 3 antibiotics Are the muscle aches considered a herx? They don't wax and wane. I am always sore. I have Scleroderma. Dolores & Mike From: Cooky Stonkey <cookee1@...> Subject: rheumatic question " rheumatic " <rheumatic > Date: Thursday, January 1, 2009, 4:08 PM Happy 2009 to all of you wonderful people. This may sound silly because why would someone push on their joints on purpose! I have been on AP for 11 years (Minocin and Clindy IV's). I consider myself in remission and have been for a while. I have few flares and they don't last but 2 days or so when they do occur. BUT if I press on my knuckles or other joints they are very sore but the soreness goes away when I stop pressing. I'm not talking about pressing hard but like when you wring your hands or cup your elbow. Question is.does anyone else have this????? It seems it is only the joints that were inflamed and painful when I had the disease. I must say I am in quite a bit of discomfort right now. I was to have help from a cousin at Christmas and she did not show up till all the cooking was done! So I did a lot of dough rolling for Polish perogies and grating potatoes for dumplings for polish hulushki. I made nut rolls and made 6 batches of pitzels. I also put on all the lights on the tree and carried stuff too heavy for me. I'm not sure if I should increase my Minocin (I still take 100mgms M and F). Pain meds do not help. Even anti inflams do not help. I may just have to wait this out. For all of you debating on starting Minocin..yes you too can do all this after you are on AP!! NO it did not take 11 years to do this. Enough of my whining (grin). Thanks for listening. cooky
Guest guest
Hi Cooky, If I eat potatoes (even a small amount) my joints kill me. I see you've been grating potatoes and wonder if that might be the cause of some of your pain? Just a thought. Guest guest
Dolores, to your question about a gluten-free flour: yes there is an " all purpose GF baking flour " it's by Bob's Red Mill. I found it in my regular grocery store in the flour section, kind to the end where they keep specialty flours. Hope this will help. I am doing okay on the gluten-free diet. Found some real nice tasting crackers at Cosco, they are gluten-free and I can enjoy some with a dip, I always take a small amount with me when we go to a party so I can enjoy some snacks too.
