I'm about 5wks post TKR, doing great, no aid with walking, working on

flexion issues, etc., still limping, got to work on that. No feeling

outside of knee and side, but ok inside of knee. For all of you that

have had TKR's in the past, about how long does this numb sensation

last? Any tricks to getting the knee to bend easier? I'm trying so

hard to walk " normal " , but think I've limped for so long it's a habit.

The surface numbness can last a long time. I'm 21 months out and and still

have a patch on my outside knee area that has no surface feeling. It doesn't

bother me except a weird feeling when shaving my legs.

As for bending easier just keep going your PT, icing you knee in the evening

and concentrating when walking on walking without a limp. You can do it, it

just may require you to walk a little more slowly and deliberately. And

everything really gets better each day. I truly have no pain in that knee

and no real restrictions to my movement.
