Guest guest
I know some of you have said you have bad experiences with your doctors and nurses. I am blessed to have a great clinic My typical Friday: I walk into the allergy clinic and all the staff says a cheery " hi Doug. " I say " hi ladies, tell ________ I am here " and within 5 minutes she calls me back. She weighs me, takes my BP and heart rate, I blow into the kazoo and she asks me how I am doing and if my medications have changed. We yack while all this is going on. I ask her when her boyfriend is going to pop the question and if I can perform the wedding after he does etc... LOL She is just 22 and like a daughter to me. During all of this the doctor sticks his head in for just a second, says hello and asks how I am doing. " Fine Dr Z " I say, good to see you. " " Good to see you too Doug. " he says. As we are yacking she gives me my first xolair shot in one arm, then the other. I don't feel a thing! THEN, the REGULAR allergy shot goes in and YES I feel that one. It usually puts a red bump on my arm. She then gives me an appointment card for my next xolair visit in 2 weeks. I go out to the lobby to wait my 30 minutes and visit with the receptionist, read a magazine or yack with other patients. After my 30 minutes are up, I show my arms to the girl in the shot room (the place where regular allergy shots are given) and I leave. The ladies at the receptionist desk say " bye Doug, have a great weekend, see you in two weeks " . I then do my Friday grocery shopping and errands. I DO carry two epi pens with me the rest of the day. This is doctors orders.
