Anyone have any super tips > on exercises to help? Or has anyone had advice on other techniques? > I had TKRs on both knees, left on 8/7/08 and right on 9/25/08. The pain was increasing in my right knee, even though my physical therapy sessions indicated ever-improving ROM and flexion. My doctor said I had developed tendonitis, so he prescribed four additional weeks of PT, however more geared to healing the tendonitis. Improvement has been slow, but constant. Have you seen your surgeon about the tendon pain you are experiencing? And if so, can he prescribe some PT to address your pain? Although you are doing the bike, yard work, household chores, etc., you may be moving your hips/knees in ways that cause more inflamation. You may need additional PT. If your insurance will no longer pay for PT, then your doctor should have exercises for you to do at home, however it's a bit scarey to be totally on your own with excercises since healing depends on very specific positioning, as I'm sure you're aware. Best of luck! I hope you're feeling better ... even as " we speak. " Patty

Hmm, yes, that's what I am thinking too. I will see my doctor (here in the UK we have to be referred to the consultants by our local general practitioner) and ask about PT. Thinking back, I fell twice on my tailbone when I was about 13 (due to horrible shoes - the heels skidded on smooth floors and the vamps bit into my instep, but they were all my Mum could afford) and I'm sure I fractured something. Though Mum didn't take me to see the doctor back then, I think I have probably moved differently to compensate, for the last 43 years! Certainly when I've been trying to build up the gluteal muscles recently with Pilates-type exercises, they pull against that tail bone and it still hurts... that lack of muscle could be why my hip gave out in the first place. > > Best of luck!
