Guest guest
I mostly agree with what Don said, but I think the blame should be shared. Do you REALLY BELIEVE the Republicans are looking out for YOUR welfare? Just because they're good at shameless lying and nay-saying to get what they want doesn't mean they have your interests at heart. Quite the opposite. Democrats - mainly feckless and frightened (I'm frightened when facing a Republican, too) - are good scapegoats . . . and millions of Palin-, Boehner-, FOX News-brainwashed sheeple in our country actually believe that Democrats are the enemy. In the main, hating Democrats is a good way for the unwashed masses to scream their hatred of the fact that a non-caucasian has been elected president of their supposedly lily-white and christian America. I don't have a dog in this fight; my progenitors were largely Native American . . . I wonder from whence their progenitors came? Finally, those folks seem to have forgotten the horrors W. Bush inflicted on our country. Tracing the problems at the root of today's dissension will likely lead you to something " The Decider " did. Guest guest
I totally agree. It is quite apparent to me that the noise and hand wringing re S. 510 is perpetuated by Republicans who only look out for the welfare of the Big Business and the very wealthy. They are SO adept at using scare tactics to control the rest of us. Can those of you who are so opposed to S. 510 please provide exact quotes from the bill that substantiate the charges being made against it? Best, Dee P.S. I also am with those who would ban politics from this forum but as long as it is allowed I don't see why we should have be subjected to a one-sided view. > > I mostly agree with what Don said, but I think the blame should be shared. Guest guest
For the record, I never mentioned repooplicans or the demorats in my post...I think both are taking us in a less than good direction. If I have a leaning politically, it would be in favor of a more libertarian perspective. This is beyond either party...and provides the law to permit far over reaching control of the little guy...and is a bill that will give the big business of Monsanto a monopoly over food...and put a horrendous big squeeze on all competitors by slowly snuffing the life out of them.  In this group I think this issue needs to be allowed as I too hate politics, but on this issue we must pull our respective heads out of the oil, so to speak, and get involved as it is our freedom that is at stake. I believe bites from naturalnews.com has been cut / pasted in here and if memory serves, pg 195 is where a lot of the trouble starts - not to mention the slippery way harry reid slid it thru when there was very few to vote... I repeat: this is about our precious food and medical freedom - not politics... here are some pertinent links for more info: ***Across Europe, hundreds of herbal products are set to be banned beginning this April. Traditional Chinese Medicine herbs will be hardest hit. Read my article to learn why medicinal herbs are being outlawed across the EU and why America may be next: http://www.naturalnews.com/030873_EU_directive_medicinal_herbs.html ***Check out this video of my interview on the show. Guest guest
The Democrats are for big big government and control of the people and I don.t like either party but I don't believe in big government controlling the massses. The food bill is one big joke and will end organic farming with the expensive liscenes they want and will continue to poison the people with gmo crap to eat. ________________________________ From: Dolores <dgk@...> Coconut Oil Sent: Mon, January 3, 2011 9:49:42 AM Subject: Re: S. 510 bill (should not be OFF TOPIC for any)  I totally agree. Guest guest
Enough with the blame for things past. We were discussing the food 'safety' bill, not the rest of it. We need to get together on what's best for this country, and stop the fighting. Whatever party we endorse, we need to let our so-called representatives know where we stand on the issues, or we'll never get anywhere. Guest guest
Don, I, too, receive the NaturalNews Insider and read the same. But speaking of S.510, did HE actually read the bill or is he just regurgitating the hysteria making the rounds? So far no one has actually quoted anything in the bill itself that would justify the fears expressed. When you find the actual quotes that proves the case please let us know. Perhaps you can start here with the actual bill. And btw, note the number of senators who signed it: http://www.govtrack.us/congress/bill.xpd?bill=s111-510 Dee

Guest guest
Since it was introduced by Murray, then replied to by Laszlo Horvath, J Trettel, Don , thebrookela, algaelady, myself, Don again, Jan Rugg, J Trettel again, myself again, and now you niceperson. Had enough? Then complain to the person who started it. If this list was properly moderated it would have been stopped as soon as it began. This is not the first time that Doug has introduced this issue and since I feel it is, for the most part, an urban legend I felt it needed to be challenged or it will just continue to grow. These things seem to take on a life of their own, becoming impervious to the truth. Guest guest
To the person who thinks S.510 is about noise and hand wringing, please take a look at some videos on youtube. " Who's controlling our food? "  really terrifying! They were posted by a man in the Netherlands, not a partisan American. Also watch " Food, inc. " .  Surrendering control of our food is an extremely serious issue. Thanks to the man who posted so much information about it. There is a great deal more to be found online, if one cares or is interested. Guest guest
In the description of this group it states that " any topic related to natural health, or improving our health is also appreciated.....heated discussions are fine if they are respectful. " I think this is a terribly important issue for our health. The only one who was not respectful was the one who ranted about " lilywhite, Christian, unwashed masses " . Guest guest
I think we should be grateful that the moderation on this list is so loose. I just quit another group, because the mods were so overly strict that if you forgot to sign your name or trim every bit of previous posts not directly involving your comment, they'd not allow it and then follow up with a curt email. I'd posted a desperate question regarding an important pet issue, but in my desperation, I forgot to sign my name, and so I got a mod's nasty response via email. (And it's not as if that mod didn't know I was a regular...Could have let it slide under the circumstances.) I found my help elsewhere, but in the meantime, had I not sense enough to find my answer at another forum, my pet could have suffered terribly, as the vet's office wasn't answering. Some moderators micro-manage beyond the reasonable. Yes, I'm quite thankful that this group is so relaxed...though a touch too relaxed when it comes to allowing flaming to go on unchecked, but even in those cases, good information is often gleaned. Guest guest
My question to you, Dee...is are you willing to take the chance that it is urban legend?...or are you taking an approach like Pelosi when she said you just have to let us pass the health care legislation to find out what is in it?   I have heard from too many sources beyond the natural news site to let this go...and after it is passed it may be too late...I love my country, but have come to the place where I fear my gov't does not have our general welfare at heart...there are just too many issues / unanswered questions...once we have let them get all their ducks in a row...those 900 fima camps will be opening...guess who will be the guests there...they did not build them for no reason at all... What is the saying?: Those who forfeit their liberty for a little bit of perceived safety deserve neither?... d d From: Dolores <dgk@...> Subject: Re: S. 510 bill (should not be OFF TOPIC for any) Coconut Oil Date: Monday, January 3, 2011, 3:59 PM  Since it was introduced by Murray, then replied to by Laszlo Horvath, J Trettel, Don , thebrookela, algaelady, myself, Don again, Jan Rugg, J Trettel again, myself again, and now you niceperson. Guest guest
Sigh. Unfortunately that's the same tired story making the rounds of the internet. And just because it's repeated so often - by " doctors " no less - doesn't make it " real " . I must be the only one here who has actually read the bill. But I guess people will believe what they want to believe, regardless, so I'm not going to waste anymore of my precious time on this issue. I guess we'll just have to wait to see if any of these dire predictions actually come true. I'm betting that they won't. Dee > > Here's the real story on S.510 that hasn't been posted.
