Guest guest
Hi, I took it and it does makes a difference. We all need the oil to protect our cells also, if you don't have enough fat to protect the cells our body will not be able to fight off many organism. I was recommended to drink coconut milk 12 onces a day but I don't like the taste, and I know it will make me gain weight and I am already heavy set. It helps to keep you strong. Guest guest
Hello. I don't exactly measure out my VCO-just put a few largish " blobs " in either warm water w/carob powder and a little Stevia; or warm almond milk with carob powder and Stevia. I don't do dairy, so smoothies aren't an option for me. Never tried VCO " raw " from spoon-sounds pretty gross! I haven't seen any spectacular results, (been ingesting since second week of January, 2010)but I know it's slowly helping me (I'm coming back from antibiotic " napalming " of good digestive flora), Welcome to the group! Guest guest
coconut cream is a wonderful product its nothing like dairy to the body, I am a vegeterian, I dont eat wheat-gluten-sugar- diariy or meat, but coconut cream is very wonderful. you can take vegeterian  rennet-almond milk-and mix in it acidophilos and get a wonderful probiotic. chickery as a tea  is also another natural pro-biotic. That shall help you well- ________________________________ From: Laurie Adler <92adler@...> Coconut Oil Sent: Mon, April 5, 2010 8:17:46 PM Subject: Re: coconut oil  Hello. Guest guest
Chicco, Start your dosage small. Start with 1/2 tsp for a week, then work your way up to 3 tablespoons a day, increasing every week. This will hopefully prevent herx-diarrhea. VCO will cleanse your system specially the stomach and can cause diarrhea when too much of it is taken. There are several good vendors for vco. wldernessfamilynaturals.com has several types. I prefer their centrifuged vco. And for cooking i use their expeller pressed vco which does not come from copra but fresh coconut meat as well. Tropical traditions sells good vco too. Depending on your preference, if you like coconut taste or not. I don't like vco taste at all, in fact, it makes me gag, so i buy the centrifuged vco from WFN. There are many others. > > I am new to this forum. Bought some virgin coconut oil but not knowing how much I should take every day I havnt taken any! Any advice would be helpful. Guest guest
Honesty, I am from a coconut oil producing country and i know what is a good coconut oil and coconut cream. To say that if one does not purchase from a certain vendor; he does not get a true cream, is i think naive at best. > > From: honestylove Belts <honestylove_ belts (DOT) com> > Subject: Re: [coconut_oil_ open_forum] coconut oil > coconut_oil_ open_forum > Date: Monday, April 5, 2010, 2:47 PM > >  > > Hey Chicco, > > I am new also to this forum, but I would like to let you know that if you haven't got coconut cream from this distrubutor you do not have real coconut oil. They are Mid-American MA- the number is 1-937-456-9393 > > ____________ _________ _________ __ > > From: chiccolenadog <chiccolenadog@ .co. uk> > > coconut_oil_ open_forum > > Sent: Mon, April 5, 2010 10:20:55 AM > > Subject: [coconut_oil_ open_forum] coconut oil > >  > > I am new to this forum. Helped me fight rheumatoid arthritis, heal leaky gut, and lose 45 pounds. Gone from 9 toenail fungus to 2 but not cleared. Guest guest
How do you take the coconut oil, on food or by the spoonful? Do you take it at certain times - like before you eat, etc. How do you use it for the toenails? What do you mean by the diet? Are you referring to the candida diet or something else? Guest guest
As we know, there are always naysayers and those for whom a particular protocol doesn't work. A number of candida remedies are based on lauric acid. Coconut oil is made up of 50% lauric acid. It is considered to scour for candida. It also stimulates and balances the metabolism which is why it is being used in diet programs. It also is reputed to cleanse the liver. I have been using coconut oil to cook with for many years now. My skin is quite youthful for my age (but I also use organic jojoba oil topically). Since adding the iodine protocol, symptoms of candida have ceased. I'm not sure what you are referring to as detox reaction with coconut oil. -- >I have read and heard virgin and cold pressed coconut oil was good for the >thyroid and other issues like candidas. >Has anyone tried it in the long term? >Cos others say it's not true it does help so I'd like to hear people who >had a good experience. Guest guest
Regarding LuAna Coconut Oil, this was the first CO I used and it hung around a long time. I could not seem to like it any way I tried it. Then I decided to see if I could find a review of it and see what others say. I found one and the reviews were not good. One thing they said was it was not processed right. I don't remembre any of the details, though. I just know that that was the decider for me to start looked for something online to help me in my search for pure CO. ________________________________ From: Alobar <Alobar@...> Coconut Oil Sent: Wed, January 19, 2011 5:25:02 PM Subject: Re: coconut oil  I have used LuAna coconut oil. Guest guest
It's true that the oil will last for years. My last 50 pound can is still fresh, and I bought that 4 years ago (I use this one for my ointments at my shop). It will, however, quickly turn rancid if you put your fingers in it, as I did with the jar I keep in the bathroom for my hair, skin and oil pulling. After dipping in with my fingers, that I was certain were clean, the oil had that rancid stink in just a couple of weeks...So be certain to use a clean spoon. Guest guest
Have you found a way to use the oil for your bathroom purposes and not make it rancid? Taking into account that we are now in winter and the oil is solid. So I thot to try an electric cup warming pad and put the oil in a pump bottle and heat it. The bottle I used was a heavy thick shatter-resistant plastic, but it still turned rancid. So I have been looking for a ceramic or glass pump bottle, but have not found one that I like yet. ________________________________ From: moontidearts <moontidearts@...> Coconut Oil Sent: Wed, January 19, 2011 9:02:50 PM Subject: Re: coconut oil  It's true that the oil will last for years. Guest guest
For your face, you can simply pierce a Vit E gel cap and apply the oil you squeeze out, but you should also look into using Vit C on your face for wrinkles. Google " homemade Vit C serum " , as there's lots of links that teach how to make it, avoiding the crappy and unnecessary ingredients found in the ultra expensive serums found at drug and beauty stores.
