update on Chrissie

Yes, indeed, everyone's prayers have done a wonderful job! Keep them coming!

I came home from rehab yesterday, but am still in quite a bit of pain. I

guess, because of the gastric bypass, the pain meds didn't work well for me

(and still aren't). The epidural and spinal worked great, as did the extra

shots while in the hospital. But once in rehab, and on oral meds, the pain

was horrendous! I complained and cried and carried on until they finally

gave me a dose I could at least endure. I was and am on 6mg Dilauded every 3

hours and a Fentanyl patch every 72 hours. I also take Ativan every 6 hours.

All these powerful drugs only take the edge off, but I thank God for that

edge that does come off.

I did fantastic with physical therapy. Everyone wondered how I could be

progressing as quickly as I have been. Surgery was last Tuesday (1 week

ago), and I can walk around with a cane now. I'm not even using a walker

anymore. Rehab said I didn't need a visiting nurse at home, nor do I need in

home physical therapy. I will be going to outpatient physical therapy as

soon as it can be set up (slow because of Christmas holidays, etc). There

are 35 staples in each knee, which come out on the 30th.

I can even go up and down steps already. I am staying on the first floor for

a while though. I am sleeping on my extra wide sofa (it's like twin bed).

I am tired a lot. Will update more later. Going to lay back down now.

Thanks to everyone who iss praying for me. Keep it up while I recuperate,

please. Your prayers are definitely working!!!!

Hi Sharon, sorry this happened. You are not on moderation but the the

" spam " feature is turned on and it identifies many legitimate messages

as spam and actually does NOT often catch the spam so most of us list

owners turn it off but being a moderator I don't have the access here,

to do that. This time, it identified 3 legitimate messages as spam.

When it does this, they do not go out but must be approved by a mod or

owner. Sorry again... Chrissie knows folks here are praying for her

and I'm sure she will return to the list soon and see your message.

The prayers help her whether she knows about them or not...

joy in your arms the pain was worth every minute of it. So will the

new knee as soon as you can walk and it's a different kind of pain and

you will that the old pain is going and so shall the new pain in time

that it was worth it to. I haven't had mine yet going to after the

first of the year and that is what I'm keeping in mind. If you have

made it thought your life so far you can do this too.
