Guest guest
Hi All! I had both my hips replaced in 2003 the left hip failed and I had to get it done again the very next year ! I really never got the real story about why my hip failed after the second hip replacement on my left hip I still had limited range of motion on the left side and a still have touble with it today some times it feel like it locks when I move the pick something up for ex:bending forward, I was told by my Dr. that I could gain some range if I lost some weight I have lost 126lbs.and I really need to work out now but when I do I have pain on the left side! While watching CNN about two months ago I find out that the hip that I received defective! What do I do now I'm heading to the Dr. that did my operations this morning to see what he says. To make things worst now my knees are hurt and may have to be work on! this whole thing has been a nightmare for me and my family. Changing my whole way of being I was a heavy laborer making 60,000 a year before I had any of these operations now I collect SSD 14,000 a year because I can't work anymore! I think God that I can move around but some times I think way me! God Bless You All Al
Guest guest
I haven't had my replacement surgery yet--targeting Feb when insurance changes--but I had to respond to your situation. Sounds like you need to do some research on the recalled hips with an eye to a lawsuit. Maybe you've already looked into that, but if I can get compensated because the wrong kind of oil was put in my car at the factory, surely a human nightmare is the stuff lawyers feed off. Guest guest
Yes I have one of the Stryker Trident alumina-ceramic hips that has been " recalled " , sort of, because of problems. Fortunately, I am problem free. I have read that certain Zimmer hips have been recalled as well. I would suggest doing a Google search. Several attorney firms will pop-up that specialize in these joint cases. > > Hi All! I had both my hips replaced in 2003 the left hip failed and I > had to get it done again the very next year ! Guest guest
I have one but I haven't had any problems so far. I had a second THR in Dec and went back for my six week visit today and discussed the first one (Zimmer) with the surgeon. He said that if I am not having problems after two years then it is unlikely that it will fail. He did tell me that the failure for rate them was 5%. This surgeon is great and I suspect that the day he learned about these devices was the worst day of his life. Needless to say that the second hip device is not Zimmer. > > > > Hi All!
