Guest guest
Duncan: If you can reply without exerting yoursef searching Google, then please reply to the following. In the candida circle I read that yeast should not be consumed as it will cause sensitivity reaction in those who are candida infested. But my friend, a psychiatrist, today said that nutritional yeast will rather kill the candida. Please resolve the conflict. Guest guest
Ratan, I observe that no sensitivity symptoms occur when one takes an anti-candida preparation that contains yeast. The yeast can't be used by the candida because their cell walls are so similar, but the yeast can outcompete the candida by using up the nutrients. Nutritional yeast may be pressure cooked and cell walls destroyed; in my view this would be a different argument compared to eating live yeast. all good, Duncan > > Duncan: > If you can reply without exerting yoursef searching Google, then please reply to the following. > In the candida circle I read that yeast should not be consumed as it will cause sensitivity reaction in those who are candida infested. Guest guest
But will the nutritional yeast not grow and grow and out-compete even the probiotics in addition to candida? -------------------------- Ratan Singh, Phone: 91 141 2652561, mail: ratanpsych@... - Certificate in Food & Nutrition; Diploma in Nutrition and Health Education; Life Member, Nutrion Soc. Guest guest
Hi Ratan, no, " probiotic " yeast will not outcompete probiotics because (if they are fed inulin) the probiotics secrete enough acidity to curb the growth of yeast as well as candida and other pathogens. If you have all of them in a natural, thriving environment, the probiotics win If you wanted to add a probiotic yeast to a bowel culture that currently supports too much candida, the pH must be close to neutral, in other words not acidic enough to kill yeast or candida. As soon as pH gets a couple of points more acid due to the probiotics working their feed, pathogen numbers and their activity are severely reduced. all good, Duncan
