Guest guest
Good for you, ! The surgeon's work is done, now yours begins! The spinal anesthesia will wear off during the night or day some time but you should have good pain management in place, and for sure they'll be getting you up....Good luck. Quad sets, quad sets, heel slides, heel slides.....here you go.... Annie Pal > > Hey folks, > > I survived right TKR today. I was awake and even asking questions throughout the surgery. They put up a big barrier so I couldn't see (good idea!). The short version: He said my knee was a " horrible mess " . He took cololr pictures of the inside of the kneecap - completely devoid of cartilage. He also sent a pice of my bone to pathology because he says there's something wrong with my bones - they are " full of brown stuff " - I saw the picture. I don't know what a cross-section of bone is supposed to look like, but mine apparently doesn't resemble anything normal. He does 600 knees per year, and had never seen this..oy vey! > > They haven't let me get up yet so I am chained to my bed until PT comes in tommorrow early and unhooks me and lets me walk around a bit. > > I did have a " red man " reaction to vancomycin but the doc said that they just put it in too fast. Guest guest
Hi , so glad to hear from you already. Sounds like your bones were worse than mine. My surgery went great too and if they hadn't prescribed Dlaudid for me I wouldn't have been so sick for so long either. Hope you continue to improve!!! Guest guest
Hi , thanks for asking! After a shaky start from the drugs and not being able to keep anything down for a couple of days, I'm glad to report that I'm home on my own and doing great! All four dogs welcomed me home with such love and affection. (G) My parrot is petty happy now too. I was so lucky to have a great next door neighbour to come in to look after them all for me. Looking forward to lots of doggie walks in my future now. Hugs, Sylvie Hanna, , BC On 9-Oct-08, at 7:26 PM, karen773208 wrote: > , > Glad you are doing well!
