Guest guest
The tightness goes away. I was still icing my knee in the evenings when I felt like it at that point. And I was wearing knee-high TED hose a few hours each day when I had swelling. You will notice another milestone in about a month, then again at six months post-op. I know it seems like a long time to wait but I'm two years out from my TKR and my knee is essentially perfect (except kneeling, that feels weird and I just don't really do it) but I move almost gracefully now, which I hadn't for years. And nothing hurts. Nothing feels stiff. It feels very natural. Tightness in the knee I had my TKR 8 weeks ago. I still feel tightness in the knee. Is this mormal? When does it go away? I have a good bend in the knee but the tightness is driving me crazy. It feels better when I put on a TED hose. I am having my other knee done on Wednesday and will do this all over again. I must be crazy! Joanie ------------------------------------
Guest guest
I cannot wait to say the things that you are saying. I think I am doing pretty well for almost 8 weeks, at least the doctor says so. I am nervous about my next surgery on Wednesday. I hope I will be able to walk ok since now both knees will have had surgery. Joanie > > The tightness goes away. I was still icing my knee in the evenings when I > felt like it at that point. Guest guest
You described my knee, only 2 weeks ago. I told my PT it felt too tight and like it's in a vise. I kept doing the heel slides any time I was in bed. I also lay on my back with my arms behind my legs (thighs) and just let my legs hang that way. (you look funny but it stretched out my knee) My hardest one was standing, holding on to something - like a counter- and bending my knee back. But only do what your dr or PT says, my ortho surgeon is pretty agressive. I came out of surgery in the cpm machine at 0 and 120. He had to get special cmp machines that went more than 110. He's very aggresive, but I have great results. Your right, the TED hose feel better. 0 extention and 135 flexion. Why are you have TKR? I have AVN so they are watching my hips now. Very Best of Luck! Set your goals and try to meet them. I'm working on the steps now, I WILL do 2 without holding on! Blessings, Lynette

You are probably feeling that now, and know which one I mean. That goes away, don't worry. Good luck on yo9ur second!! Bill in Minneapolis.
