Guest guest
Duncan you are just plain wrong about lemons not being alkalising: http://tinyurl.com/3t26olt quote: Lemons are Alkaline? Please Explain… Lemon water is most definitely alkalizing to the body. I know this might seem confusing at first but my short video with Dr Young trained, alkaline expert nutritionist Gareth will explain how lemons are indeed an alkaline food (click here for a full list of alkaline foods): Note: I am not saying that lemons are alkaline, I am saying that lemons are alkalising! See the distinction here? And by the way, this applies to all foods, not just lemons & limes. The most important thing to note is not what the pH of the food is in it's natural state – rather the EFFECT THE FOOD HAS ON THE BODY. " end quote Duncan, your response below sounds like a lab experiment and has little to do with digestion. Dee > > The carbon is supposed to burn away, leaving only the mineral ash component. In lemon juice the citric acid is carbon, hydrogen and oxygen, thus burns away leaving very little mineral ash. Another source of carbon in the juice are sugars. Carbohydrates are often referred to as net-acidic, acidifiers to the body, because they contain so much carbon. In the blood, waste carbon is in the form of carbonic acid, which is exhaled as carbon dioxide, costing you two molecules of alkaline oxygen per molecule of carbon exhaled. > > So, if you want to alkalize you'll choose a high mineral food. Juice is low-mineral but high-carbon, not a good choice for alkalizing. > > all good, > > Duncan > >
Guest guest
I've made the point very clearly that juice does not contain much mineral compared to solids. You only had to look, but since you're quoting Dr. Young-trained individuals now, I'll tell you that Young's is the website I saw a couple years ago that said the stomach and intestines are supposed to be alkaline of all things! I rest my case. all good, Duncan > > Duncan you are just plain wrong about lemons not being alkalising: > > http://tinyurl.com/3t26olt > > quote: Lemons are Alkaline? Guest guest
Uh yea, and you're the guy who still thinks that SPF is an ingredient - so you'll forgive me if your point isn't well taken without your providing any credible references. And if you want to delve into the past I can recall a number of additional discussion in which your declarations (regarding coconut oil and coconut water to name just two) were proven to be equally incredible. And Dr. Young is not the ONLY one who says that lemon juice is alkalising. You said I should do a google and I did. Did you?
