Dear Readers,

kindly accept Season's greetings!!!!!!!!!!

We are settled in city Vadodara / Baroda, Gujarat, /india alongwith

my family and parents. My father (age 69 years) have had a acute

pain in his left thigh / hip for the last 2-3 months. After having

consulted our family doctor and the orthorpedic surgeon here in

Baroda, and based on X-ray report, it has been investigated as a

case of Avascular Nacrosis. The doctors has advised a total

replacement of Hip joint on left side. My father's situation is

very critical and he is not able to move or walk even a bit.

As a result we have decided to undergo this surgery on priority. As

you would be aware, this surgery total expenses are huge and

considering that my father is not covered under mediclaim or

insurance policy, i have some definite quetions:-

1). The joint should be cemented or uncemented or hybrid.

(uncemented joints are more expensive)

2). The make of joint - Most of the doctors here have refused to use

Indian makes / brands available in the market stating the they are

of inferior quality. They do recommend to use imported one either

& or Zimmer. What would be the rational and

practical decision considering the budget.

3). Do you know / recommend any good orthopedic surgeon here in

Baroda who is expert in Hip joint replacement surgery???

You would appreciate that we dont have much time left since my

father's condition is critical and we can not delay the surgery.

Your early guidance would be of great help to me and give me

definite directions.

Thanks a lot with best regards
