Dear friend:

We are writing to urge you to join Help End Lead

Poisoning (HELP).  HELP is a statewide non-profit

organization dedicated to the elimination of lead

poisoning of Ohio's children through education,

information sharing, public policy development and

mobilizing citizens.  Lead poisoning causes

irreversible damage to children under six , yet it is

one the most preventable of conditions.  And Ohio is

considered a high risk state by HUD for lead hazards

and poisoning.  Something must be done!

In its three years of existence, HELP successfully

worked for passage of HB 248, key legislation aimed at

preventing lead poisoning in young children.  HELP has

also conducted educational workshops around the state,

providing information to parents, caregivers,

landlords and homeowners.  To continue these important

efforts we need your financial support as an

individual and/or as an organization.  Your

contribution will allow us to do the following:

·Deliver educational presentations around the state on

key aspects of House Bill 248,.

·Monitor the writing of regulations for and

implementation of HB 248.

·Continue to publish and distribute the bi monthly

newsletter, full of the latest lead prevention news,

information and local program descriptions

·Hold bi monthly general membership meetings with

noted experts as speakers and the opportunity to share

information.

·Deliver general education presentations on lead

poisoning prevention to advocates, schools,

renovators, childcare providers and many others

·Be an active voice throughout Ohio in the fight to

eliminate lead poisoning.

All these goals are possible with your help.

Participation and contributions are necessary for the

continued success and survival of the organization.

Please fill out the attached membership form - and be

generous both personally and professionally.

This is a critical time for HELP.  Lead poisoning is

preventable but not without your help.  Implementing

HB 248 is crucial - and educating the public about

lead poisoning and HB 248 is imperative.  Please, join

the fight against lead poisoning today.  Feel free to

call for additional information.
