Guest guest
Hi Liz, In an effort to reduce the number of 'pills' I take, I open capsules and dump the dry contents into something drinkable. For the most part, I mix with my whey drink. I drink my whey with a straw so that I can slurp any sediment of any supplements that may settle on the bottom. Perhaps, your Dad's days can be made easier this way, too. Love and Laughter, Anne
Guest guest
Hi Anne, the thing is, we're already doing that for many of his supplements! Then there are a few that are small enough that he can easily swallow that he takes. Basically, there's just only so much " stuff " a person in his condition can take, so we can't add things unless they are necessary, and may have to drop other important things if we do just so he can handle it. appreciate the tip though : ) Liz > > Hi Liz, > > In an effort to reduce the number of 'pills' I take, I open capsules and dump the dry contents into something drinkable. Another thing to consider - all of those supplements require a working liver to metabolize - the worse condition a persons liver is in, the harder it is for them to make use of most supplements. For someone who is already in a weakened state, the first/primary focus should be on strengthening their basic systems - eliminative (healing clay water/charcoal slurries, homozon to help clean things out and keep things moving), digestive (homemade kefir/yogurt made from raw full fat milk (goats milk if you have a dairy intolerance), inulin, and a high quality probiotic (I like PB8), and chemical processing (liver/gall bladder/kidney cleanses, liver/kidney support herbs, etc). I'd also include in the initial treatment a 3 times daily 'whey shake' consisting of a high quality liquid mineral supplement (I like the Vital Earth Fulvic/Humic blend), whey protein isolate (I like the whey from LifeSource), selenium and 1/4 cup of raw cream (if not dairy intolerant), and twice daily (in between the whey shakes) 8 ounces of homemade bone broth. In many cases, people will have a 100% turnaround just from these basics... Then, if you need to target specific issues, work on them after a few months on the basics. Guest guest
Hi Liz, Good to hear that you're already maximizing your options. The best to you and your Dad. ONE ANOTHER SUBJECT: I notice that my response to you was not posted through the group. I clicked 'reply to group', thinking that would do it. Can you tell me how to direct my responses (or any new input) so that it's posted for everyone. Thanks in advance for helping me with the truly mundane. Guest guest
Hi Anne...it looks to me like your messages have been posted on the group. In the " " box above when you are writing a response, just be sure it's on the " Coconut Oil " and it will be visible for all here. Guest guest
Is there alternate suggestion for people who cannot take dairy, whey, and many herbs bc of allergic like intolerances? The whey seems to be a biggie, is there a suitable replacement that does the same? Tina > > Hi Anne, > > the thing is, we're already doing that for many of his supplements! Guest guest
Thanks, Liz I'm doing just that with this post. If my last post went to the group, do you know why it wouldn't show up in my emails? I never see them! Again, many thanks. Love and Laughter, Anne
