Guest guest
The higher the heel, the more your knee is forced straight (i.e. into extension) and sometimes even hyperextension. This is very stressful on the kneecap and possibly could have contributed to your arthritis before your TKR. If you have any tightness on the back side of your TKR knee from the surgery, wearing your heels forces the extension and then you have microtears in the soft tissue and muscles, then that has to heal so you get swelling. You can of course ice to help with the swelling and the pain after you wear your heels. If you can continue to stretch that area, the problem might go away after a while. A long while. By the way, the high heels also force your low back to hyperextend. My 2000 RTKR is much looser on the back side than my 2008 LTKR but I'm not too surprised as things were much the same only worse before the surgery too.
