Guest guest
Sorry for the double posting but Voltaren is something most of us can benefit from. Since I am disabled I am on medicare - which doesn't cover the Voltaren patches. Even so, I bought a " 90-day " supply of them a few months ago, along with the gel. Since having right TKR (October 8), I have been on prednisone (16 mg/day) for my autoimmune diseases, and that helps a lot with joint pain in general. Hence, I have only used the patches (brand name " Flector " ) on my neck a few times. NOW, I have started using two patches, every night, one on my knee just below the kneecap, the other just below that. WOW! What a difference, and no side effects that I can tell. I wrap the area with one of those large ace bandages we all have from our many knee surgeries - otherwise the patches would come off. They work great - yesterday, I was walking a lot, doing pilates-based physical therapy, and doing " Wii Fit " exercises for 20 minutes, so the knee was whining by the end of the day. This morning - nothing. I had to walk up our steep front stairs and the knee felt normal for the first time ever. I KNOW, I am on prednisone (a steroid anti-inflammatory) and Voltaren (a non-steroid anti-inflammatory), but still, to have no pain at all, that was wonderful, and I think it's the Flector patches. When I run out of patches I will just go straight to using the gel in the same way. I sure wish Medicare would pay for them but all Medicare seems to do is send out lists of drugs they WON'T cover anymore, each month - never ones that they WILL cover! claire Callahan Goodman
