Guest guest
I am 6.5 weeks out from a total knee (Corin Rotaglide) however, me knee bend is only 85 deg. Mr Doctor says to push it, but how hard do you go? I don't mind the pain but I am frightened of doing damage. There is talk that if you don't get it back in the first 8 weeks that's it, your stuck, is this true, I am very worried. Any input welcome. Bill. Guest guest
Aren't you going to physical therapy? Your PT can help you. Yes, you need to push it hard...it is going to hurt. If scar tissue develops and the bend doesn't come back sometimes they have to put you to sleep and the surgeon manipulates the knee to break up the scar tissue and get the bend. Work hard. I have had a normal replacement on my right knee and am on my 3rd revision (replacement) of my left knee due to 2 infections...however, my at home PT after the surgery had a goal of 95 within 2 weeks after surgery in order to get ahead of the scar tissue and get to the 110+ desired outcome. Every knee is different as well though. Harold On Mon, Dec 15, 2008 at 8:17 AM, Bill wrote: I am 6.5 weeks out from a total knee (Corin Rotaglide) however, me knee bend is only 85 deg.
