Guest guest
Aren't you supposed to replace the carbs with coconut oil in order to maintain the caloric count for the day? Adding a real good fuel like coconut oil without drawing back other calories is adding net calories for the day. all good, Duncan >
Guest guest
Thanks for the response about my weight gain. My jar of coconut oil says that a tablespoon is 125 calories, so that would be 250 extra calories a day for the last 30 days. I'm sure I need to cut back on carbs more, etc. I don't wish to stop using the coconut oil.....I've learned so much on this site about the benefits, and I do feel that it is doing me good...... Guest guest
> > > HELP! I've been taking coconut oil for about 4 weeks now, one tablespoon in the morning, and one more later in the day. I also do oil pulling with it first thing in the morning. Nothing else has changed in my diet or exercise level, and I've gained 5 pounds. I do feel some benefits from it (better gums, teeth, less pain in my neck and shoulders), but I surely don't need to be gaining weight. Has this happened to anyone else? Any thoughts? Thank you.... > Hi, Sometimes cereals, grains, rice and potatoes combined with coconut oil cause the body to increase its weight. You might want to experiment with cutting out carbohydrates to see if that helps you lose the weight you've gained. This suggestion comes from personal experience. regards, Berenice
Guest guest
250 extra calories a day for a month only translates into 7500 additional calories, and at 3500 calories per pound, that only equals 2-1/7 pounds, at the traditional way of looking at calories/pound. My personal experience is that my weight loss attempts are more successful if I cut out carbs.
