The best rule of thumb I've heard is to try to urinate two liters/quarts a day

as an adult. This output is sufficient to carry away the waste and the input to

urinate that amount is adequate to rehydrate you. You don't have to allow for

sweating in this calculation.

all good,

My doctor always said drink enough so that your pee is clear. That's a sure

sign that you're flushing things out and rehydrating.

I have 2 cents to add to this topic. When I was at my sickest, the one thing I

found that I swear by is I found alkalized water. Whether it is through a

machine or it is an alkaline water from a spring that tests 7.0 or higher,

alkalized water is essential to the health of a body. Alkaline water will flush

your system of toxins.

When I started, I drank a gallon a day for a year and cleaned up my diet in that

year, too. That was more than my total body weight in ounces. I know I urinated

more than 2 liters a day, though I didn't measure it, and I doubt anyone else

really does. What you want in a water is to **feel better** because that is what

water SHOULD do for you. I fully believe that. So find a good alkalized water

and drink enough of it to start feeling better and then stay with that amount

until you know it is not helping you and then you can back down to half your

body-weight in ounces. I would say, for me, that the water no longer was helping

me after about 8-9 months. I kept drinking it for 3-4 more months because I did

not know if it would pick back up or not. It didn't, so I really could have

backed down to 50/60 oz a day after 9 months and then pursued other things to

pursue my health.

When I drank that water, I saw many things clear up for me and among these is, I

lost weight. If we live in this world, we all have toxins to lose, or at least

HAD toxins to lose. I lost all I need to lose and if I lose anymore, I'll be

wearing my nieces' hand-me-downs. I didn't lose all of it with alkalized water.

I found magnets this year that took the rest off. So between these two things, I

call them the two best tools to use to help your body start working right. There

is much more than this to the body's needs, and I have not stopped there myself.

But these are two biggies.
