Dear Henry,

We did this and sold water to the public through the healthfood stores for

3 years in the 90s. We used Concentrace from the Great Salt Lake.

Try it -- you'll like it!

Best of Health!

Subject: Himalayan crystal salt

Date: Fri, 01 Aug 2003 14:51:14 +0700

Hi,

Every morning I drink a glass of water containing a spoonful of Himalayan

crystal salt (saline solution) that contains at least 74 minerals in

organic, colloidal form. I also use an ozone generator to ozonate drinking

water occasionally. Now what if I ozonated that wonderful concoction of

mineral rich water and drank that together? Has anyone tried it? Do you

think that the ozone would have any affect (good or bad) on the minerals

and their absorption into my bloodsream (and vice-versa)?

Thanks,

Henry

Saul, I am coming to Vancouver, leaving NY at the insane hour of 11

p.m. on Cathay airlines. The other choice was the insane hour of 6

a.m. on Air Canada. What have you Canadians got against New

Yorkers? ;-)

That will be VERY tough on me w/ my health but I will stakc up on

hyperbaric.

If I have some time, I'd like to visit. I have no idea exactly where

myf riend lives. Saturday I'll probably try to sleep. I'll contact

you privately mid-August. I'd like to see your setup/sauna etc.

All those rock salts, and Celtic sea salt, do NOT contain iodine.

Natural salt doesn't have iodine, which is one reason they

created iodized salt in the first place.

Iodine evaporates is the problem, then comes down in rain.

Which makes me wonder: if we all were drinking out of streams and

rivers and rainwater from a rain barrel, instead of wells and purified

water, would we have such an iodine issue? People who live on

the coast, it seems, sometimes use seawater for cooking or

marinading (easy source of salt!), so they would be getting plenty

of iodine even if they didn't eat seaweed (which they probably did too,

and still do in much of the world).

Hooray for Himalayan salt J

I too have been using it for some time now…

It seems to me the the Himalayan Crystal salt is very

high in iodine. It is pink in color and you can make a sole from the rocks.

That way you are getting as close to the source as possible.

The reason I turned to this was because I had a reaction to the potassium iodide,

which is not something you should take if you have adrenal issues.

Do you have info

that proves your statement? How does it being pink and making a sole – what is

that? – show it is high in iodine?

With the larger, coarser size crystals you'll notice the salt's natural pinkish

hue. This comes from the presence of hematite, a form of iron oxide that not

only lends a beautiful color to the salt, but also an ionic form of iron that

the body can readily absorb. So if you need some extra iron in your diet, the

salt serves as an excellent source. And ionic iron does not build up in the body

and cause potential harmful side effects, which many forms of iron

supplementation potentially can do.

Himalayan crystal salt also contains naturally occurring iodine, which is

essential to health--in exactly the proportion your body needs (the form of

iodine that's added to most table salts is actually considered a toxic metal).

So the presence of naturally occurring hematite and iodine are just two more

reasons why this salt makes the best flavor enhancer and mineral supplement you

can buy!

In fact, it almost seems like a miracle that something so simple, inexpensive,

and easy to incorporate into your daily health routine could offer such

far-ranging benefits. Isn't it exciting to know there is now a salt available

that actually adds to your state of health, instead of contributing to various

diseases?! Just be sure when you buy crystal salt that you're getting one that's

actually from the Himalayan mountains, and not some other region, and that it's

minimally processed (hand mined and washed) to retain all its health-giving

properties. Some crystal salts on the market today don't offer that level of

potency and purity.

Lovely response and informative too!

Thank you

Re: Himalayan Crystal salt

With the larger, coarser size crystals you'll notice the salt's natural

pinkish hue. This comes from the presence of hematite, a form of iron oxide

that not only lends a beautiful color to the salt, but also an ionic form of

iron that the body can readily absorb. So if you need some extra iron in

your diet, the salt serves as an excellent source. And ionic iron does not

build up in the body and cause potential harmful side effects, which many

forms of iron supplementation potentially can do.

Himalayan crystal salt also contains naturally occurring iodine, which is

essential to health--in exactly the proportion your body needs (the form of

iodine that's added to most table salts is actually considered a toxic

metal). So the presence of naturally occurring hematite and iodine are just

two more reasons why this salt makes the best flavor enhancer and mineral

supplement you can buy!

I've been taking this salt during an Iodine Loading Test because the salt company told me it is not iodized, but now hear that it has iodine naturally.  Would the naturally occurring iodine in Himalayan salt be enough to effect an Iodine Loading Test?

No it won't bother your test. There is very little in it.

New to group - does anyone drink solay made with himalayan crystal salt? I have

heard it is very good with all its minerals and that table salt is basically

poison. I read it is dissolves away the crystals that cause arthritis. etc. I

am going to try it.
