I experienced peripheral neuropathy related to thyroid and hashimoto's.

Giving up gluten helped a lot, then getting the right medication for my

thyroid resulted in even more improvement.

A relative of mine took " Neurobion " all natural remedy with some B vitamins,

for something similar. And had improvement.

This was in Europe. Not sure if available here, though. Check it out.

Blessings,

Nick

I suggest she take 3 tablespoons of coconut daily with food. Spread the dose

evenly over three daily meals. She should see significant improvement within

2 weeks. Eliminating sugar and other refined carbohydrates from her diet

would also be of great help.

Neuropathy is usually bilateral although could be mostly unilateral

with a bilateral tendency.

If onset was sudden be sure and check the vascular status, neuropathy

is usually gradual.

neuropathy symptoms can be a sign of thyroid but also of iodine

deficiency. Check for both.

Ozone therapy has been used as a gas injection; naturopaths sometimes have it.

Also, increasing microcirculation with BlockBuster-AllClear is guaranteed even

on a four month program, so save your empty bottles.

The cause of the degenerataion is usually oxidative stress, which is high in

diabetics and is pretty much stopped with undenatured whey and selenium, plus

other antioxidants. Research into diabetes and neurodegeneration is here:

all good,

I am a type II diabetic. I started getting loss of feeling in my

hands and feet about 20 years prior to me being diagnosed as a

diabetic.

I began getting serious leg cramping when I started eating lots of

spinach when I changed my diet after being diagnosed a diabetic. The

docs told me it was due to neuropathy. I later discovered that much

(if not all) of the cramping was due to me being sensitive to dietary

oxalates. By learning more about lowing oxalates, most of the leg

cramping has gone away.

I have also increased feeling in my hands and feet by taking MSM daily.

I'm not sure about neuropathy but certainly leg cramps are related to

a magnesium deficiency. I have been very interested in vitamin D for

3 or more years but only recently learned of the importance of

magnesium supplementation with it. Most people get enough calcium in

their diet but the soils are becoming depleted of magnesium due to the

type of fertilizer used. I have started taking slow release Mg and my

feet feel much better. Dr. Carolyn Dean has written the book The

Magnesium Miracle, which I have not read but I have heard her speak

and would recommend this site:

Here is a review of high potency sublingual Methyl B-12 I just

stumbled upon. Note that Cyano B-12 is crap compared to Methyl B-12.

Now I can't speak for anyone else, only as it applies to me. But when

you have diabetic neuropathy, and your feet burn, and then you take

Jarrow Forumla Methyl B-12 (I take 5000), and then your feet NO LONGER

BURN!!!, well, it's a no brainer. The stuff works. No buzzing, no pins

and needles, I keep my stress level down, and I do whatever I need to

do to control my sugar. But (and I did this as a test). I bought

another brand because it was cheaper and it was 3000 and it had folic

acid and Vitamin C. Well, BIG MISTAKE. My feet went back to burning. I

finished the bottle of pills, and immediately went back to my

beautiful Jarrow Methyl B-12 5000. BEST THING I EVER DID!!! Thanks

The following supplements have been shown to reduce the pain associated with

neuropathy:

* Fat-soluble vitamin B1 (benfotiamine)—150 milligrams (mg) one to three

times daily

* Acetyl-L-carnitine—2000 mg daily

* R-lipoic acid—300 to 450 mg daily (or alpha-lipoic acid: 600 to 1000 mg

daily)

* NAC—600 mg daily

* Curcumin—800 to 1600 mg daily

* Gamma linolenic acid (GLA)—900 to 2700 mg daily

* EPA/DHA—4000 mg daily, providing at least 1400 mg EPA and 1000 mg DHA

* Vitamin B6—100 mg daily

* Vitamin B12—1000 micrograms (mcg) of the methylcobalamin form, taken one

to four times daily (up to 40 mg daily methylcobalamin may be used in extreme

cases)

* Vitamin C—about 2500 mg daily

* Vitamin E—400 international units (IU) daily (with around 200 mg gamma

tocopherol)
