Guest guest
I found this on line... it certainly looks better than braces and wires and glue.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e_RR_UAi3JM and also this one... no picture of the appliance for it however there is pictures of the teeth over time. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2634787/ Honestly, I don't think there could be any alternative treatment for this. You simply have to force the teeth to move. My young son (8) has a permanent front tooth that has dropped down behind his permanent corresponding bottom tooth. We have been to a pediatric orthodontist and been advised that an 18 mo. course of braces will " fix " the issue. Not only will it be lengthy, expensive and potentially hazardous (metals/glue in the mouth that whole time), but it seems like overkill. The end result will be 4 aligned teeth with great potential for rearrangement as the other adult teeth push into place. DMD also says he has a smaller maxilla than mandible and will have crowding issues with every tooth. Doesn't Weston Price address some of this in his research on indigenous popluations and is there anyway to correct/assist his bone/palate growth during childhood to give him the potential of growing room for these larger permanent teeth? Any advice or experiences with pediatric orthodontia is GREATLY appreciated as we are being pressured to take care of this immediately. with gratitude, Kelli
Guest guest
Kelli, Our family dentist does not advise braces until the youth is 14 years old as teeth would still move around before then. > > Has anyone had success using VCO (or any other alternative/natural/holistic therapies) to address what is referred to as an anterior crossbite? > My young son (8) has a permanent front tooth that has dropped down behind his permanent corresponding bottom tooth.
