Guest guest
I was wondering if anyone here has had a knee that is bent and can't be strightened before TKR.I tore my miniscus in my left knee about 15 years ago and since then from fear of hurting it have avoid useing it.The knee is now bent and I can't strighten it fully.I'm looking at knee replacement in the furture because one side of my knee is bone on bone.I'm worried what will happen if the knee is bent before surgery that I won't be able to have a full extention after surgery.I've talked to 3 Dr. about getting my knee to strighten before surgery with exercises one Dr. thought I could and I did therapy for a while which amounted to doing a few exercises a few times a day.Nothing seemed to happen. One time I'd go and have a very small improvement the next time right back to where I started.I have been to two other Dr. lately in the same pratice who do nothing but TKR and they said it probably wouldn't strighten with therapy.I hope someone here has had some experience with this and can help me.
