Oh, two years? I guess I have some time to go then. I am not even at the one

year point yet. Thank you for your reply . I can add that I think the

numbness is less now then it was a few months ago so maybe it is changing.

[Norton AntiSpam]Re: question for everyone

At first it was numb but after 2 years there is no numbness. It depends on if

they cut any nerves - but nerves do grow back, but it takes awhile.

My knee replacement is now almost 8 years old. There is an area around

the scar that is still slightly numb and no hair grows there. It is

absolutely no problem.

I will be going in for the other knee sometime in the next few months.

Thanks Joan,

Hmmm.....now I am beginning to think this numbness is a very individual thing.

I guess that could be expected since the joint replacement recovery is different

for each patient. I think mine has lessened but it is still there as of now. I

only feel it when I run my hand over my knees....otherwise I don't really notice

it. I guess I am going to have to just wait and see what happens as time goes

by. Thanks to those who replied. Anyone else have a comment on the numbness

issue?

question for everyone

To all of you who have had replacement surgery..... Does the slight numbness

at the surgery site ever totally go away? My knees were done last August and

when I touch the scars, the slight numbness is still there. I can live with it

fine but was wondering if it would eventually disappear completely or is this

something that is there forever. (If I remember, I will ask my surgeon this

same question at my yearly checkup visit in a couple of months.)

Yes, Jeff, that is what I am beginning to believe from the different replies I

have received so far. Isn't it interesting how varied our side effects, recovery

and results are from surgery.
