Guest guest
Hi Lyn, Thanks for sharing with us about your current status. I am new to the group and I don't know very many people yet. I am so sorry you are going through all this. If you need a friend to talk to please e- mail me personally. I am just learning about all this but I want to help anyway I can. You're very important to us Lyn. Thanks so much for sharing with us. I will be praying for you. Love, Ruth > > Hi to everyone, > > I have been reading all the posts and notice there are many new ones here.. I want to welcome everyone. > > Also, would like you all to know that I am thinking of each and every one of you and hoping your days will be better ones.. > > I had my liver enzymes checked last week and my ALT and AST were normal. (For the first time that I know of since last May) My ANA is still a bit high at l:140 but had been 1:160. I don't know why I still have the pain around my right side. It is large, the liver is.But I have many of those cysts in it.. Also I need an ultrasound done this next month and I am just plain scared. I am praying so that the huge cyst in my right lobe will not fill up again. Since there is not much that can be done for these cysts sometimes the only alternative is a transplant. But I am going to hope for the best and try to keep positive. None of us knows what is on down the road for us, and the joy of right now is taken from us if we dwell on what might be. > > Again, I want to wish you a good evening and Sunday and a nice week to come.. My prayers are with you all. You are a great bunch of people ,supporting and being there for one another. I need the support too. That is why I stay in this group and read.. > > Take good care of yourselves. > > Blessings, > > Lyn > > > > > > --------------------------------- >
Guest guest
HI Lyn, Hang in there. I think about you. Remember you can write me anytime. I am glad to see the LFT's are normal. AS we all know, it is exciting to see those numbers, but often there is still damage occurring. We will pray that the cysts will improve. Hopefully they will improve and if your liver continues to function and the numbers stay down, then I would say that decreases your chance of needing a transplant. I hope you have a great weekend too. We all need to keep praying. The support in prayer and the power of prayer will help all of us. This group is wonderful. Keep in touch Lyn. I am keeping you in my prayers and I will let you know how my biopsy goes on Wed. I don't know if you may be having the reg. biopsy or the laproscopic. I'm thinking about you. Guest guest
Hi Everyone, Hope everyone is doing well. I wrote to my family and thought I would share my letter with youas well just to keep in touch. We are doing well, Davey is attending summer camp (just aPre-School) for 7 weeks, it began June 23rd and ends August 8th. He's been attending daily M-F from 8:30am to 2:30pm with an hour of extended time for extra activities. Summer camp has been good for his social learning. He is doing better with some words. After I pick up Davey fromschool I've been taking him to swim at our rec center. He loves splashing around in the kiddy pool,at times, I get in there and splash around with him, and this is good time forour bonding. We also go on the lawnswing together and cuddle and I sing along with the area radio that plays over the loud speaker for the center. The total experience is so nice, because it gives me the feeling of enjoying our summer together even though he is in school. He finally went potty #2 by himself here at home yesterday (Saturday July 20th. We were surprised to find him in the bathroom and he just happened to go there by himself and do his duty! The way we can use the word duty is kind of funny to me. Heehee. He serves his country by doing his duty..haahaa...that is so funny... He got his training for daily duty!!!! LOL... If only it would stay consistent to his regimen! My husband Dave is doing ok...still hanging in there. He continues to do his yard work and helping his Mom with some odd jobs around her home. Neat news...I've been getting some e-mail from people whoread my story that was published in the Treating Autism book. I have answered some questions from newbie parents of children with autism. It does feel rewarding to help other parents. It seems like finding all the answers is a life long process because achievements are on and off with Davey, and finding the right direction for him has been a challenge and continues to be achallenge at times. One really neat thing is that we are attending The LittleGym in Twinsburg and yesterday his 3rd time there he did very well... I've been by his side and we really got with the program yesterday and he stuck with me, he ventured out only a few times. He participated well even though he was a bit under the weather, I was very proud. *The Little Gym is a very nice Toddler/Pre-School/Youth gym with gymnastics equipment and mat activities. In this program he is learning to follow simple directions, interact with peers and learn basic gymnastics. So far, Davey can do forward rolls, walk on the Balance beam with assistance, and perch on the parallel bars. I'm hoping this will be fun and beneficial for him in the long run. I'm hoping you all are doing well, please write in and let us know how you are and what is happening for you. Well, that's all the news for now. Take care everyone. ~n Your Moderator and Friend. Guest guest
Hi a, welcome to our board we're a friendly group of a few guys and alot of gals..hehe. I had the band about 2 months ago, been doing really well lately and I will be going to get my first fill this coming Saturday. I am so excited to see everyone there again, it will be nice to show that I've lost some weight and I am sure they will be happy to know that my weight loss is a testament to Dr. Aceves work. One thing with the band as with any WL surgery you decide to do, is that you have to prepare yourself mentally, emotionally as well as physically. The mental part, everyone will tell you can be the toughest because we have adapted our lives around food, it is our source of comfort and it's the hardest thing to let go. The band is a great tool to help you lose the weight, it allows you to feel some restriction to hold you back from grazing down the food and then going for more. Believe me my intake is far less that it's ever been in a very long time. The procedure itself is fairly simple, easy and most people recover pretty well without any complications, there are some that experience nausea, gas pains, shoulder pains but overall it's not a really bad surgery. I went in and within 2 hrs I was up walking around like I never had the surgery, but each person is different. Best thing to do prior to surgery is to go on the pre-surgery diet, now some people don't have to but if you have a very high BMI then it's required however, it's best you do it anyways, to get all that sugar and carbs out of your system so you dont have to contend with those cravings once you are out of surgery. Get used to drinking ALOT of water...lol. I swear I've never visited my toilet so much in my life, but now my body requires the amount since it's been used to nothing but water...in fact, I drink water 99.9% of the time, other than protien drinks. First you won't have a fill, it's the recovery period so you may or may not feel restriction. I have for the past 2 mths but now I can eat a bit more than before so I know it's time to get a fill. I've enjoyed seeing the weight go off without it ever coming back, that's the best part of this band. Before you do your surgery, check out different sources and talk with people on this board and another great board is Obesityhelp.com, click on forums and find procedures: Lapband. There you will meet others with the lapband from all over the country. Good Luck!!!! And if you go to Dr. Aceves, you won't be disappointed the hospital is emaculate and the staff is awesome...especially Yolanda and (what a cutie)...ask any of the girls here...lol. Kelli >> Hello everyone my name is erica, im interested in doing the lap band > procedure.. Can someone who has had the surgery please give me some > insight on it .. I want to do it...> > a>
