Guest guest
Yesterday started my eight week and I went back to work Monday. I have done really well considering I worked 12 hours Monday and 10 yesterday. I got around well and was pretty much no pain. I still have 4 Therapy sessions left and my range of motion is 0 to 110 degrees and as the swelling goes down and the healing continues I hope it to get even better. My biggest problem was not being able to sleep in bed. I slept in my recliner for 7 weeks but the last two nights I have been able to sleep in my bed with just a small amount of discomfort. That is a major blessing. I had a tough day today and when I went walking with my wife tonight my knee bothered me a little so I learned I should be careful when I have very active days. Today on the job was probably exercise enough. I still take a pain pill when I do therapy because I asked them to push me as hard as they thought was safe and believe me they have.I also did Therapy here at home two to three times a day until I went back to work. Now it is very hard to come in late and do anything but eat, get a bath and go to bed. Just wanted to give a report since I had not been on in a while. Thanks for the advice many of you gave me on how to take care of my self and do different things that helped me in the early stages of pain and healing. You are a great group and I plan on hanging around here as I continue to heal and get better. JJ
Guest guest
You sound like you are doing great. Believe me, you will continue to improve with greater ROM and less pain and stiffness. And, yes, you have to be careful not to overdo it. I also didn't transition back to a bed until about that time (slept on a couch as the sinking part around my bottom helped with the discomfort) but it will seem just right after a few nights. I do still sleep on my side with a pillow between my knees just so I don't feel the bones/appliance rubbing together. -----Original Message-----From: Joint Replacement [mailto:Joint Replacement ]On Behalf Of J.
