Guest guest
Hey Carol, Yes, still homeschooling Martha. At least trying to inbetween all her therapies that she gets now. I even had to cut back on a couple because there is just not enough time in the day. Hope all are well over in your neck of the woods. Are you going to the DSAH Picnic? We have to as our son is in NJROTC this year and they volunteer each year. Hugs Tina Tina , How are you doing ?? Are you still homeschooling ? Carol P. .. Guest guest
I seem to have the same problem Elle. Every message I send goes to the group and on the web but does not go into my inbox, even though I have put the settings to do so. There is only one group which does send it, and I do not know what is different there. What you can do is to send yourself a copy and the copy will go to your inbox, which is what I do when I think about it that is. Lilian I am having problems posting on the forum. I receive email notifications and I can view on the site but when I reply via email I dont get the email nor can I see my post after I have replied via the forum What am I doing wrong please. Guest guest
If I didn't know better I would have thought this was my story. I too was dx'd with asthmatic bronchitis in 1996 after a cold. I carried an inhaler for 2 years (which has bromide I might add) and in 2000 I was dx'd with thyroid cancer. I had a very stressful job and travelled all the time. Your lab numbers are indicative of low thyroid - subclinical hypothyroid. You may do OK if you don't have too much damage by adding 25-50 mgs Iodoral, Vit C, Selenium, Mg and L-Tyrosine. If you have ovarian cysts (which I had) you may want to do the higher iodine dose. test Hi & Iodine Group:I was hoping you could look at my labs, and in your opinion tell me if they look low? My doctor is not concerned with them, however with the health issues I'm having right now I am looking for help with additional opinions.EndocrinologyFree T3 - 280 (normal range 230-420)Thyroxine-Free - 1.0 (normal range .8-1.8)TSH, 3rd GenerationTSH - 1.76 (normal range .4 - 4.5)About 2 years ago I experienced a bout of asthma for the first time. Doctors are baffled, they say it was caused by a cold I got. But I believe there is a deeper issue. Before this bout, I was a big runner, ran every day for 6 months straight, and never got colds. Then I got a pretty bad cold one winter (2 yrs ago) & was admitted to the hospital. I had such a hard time breathing - they diagnosed me with asthmatic bronchitis. When I got out of the hospital, I decided to get in touch with an alternative medical doctor. This practitioner felt all that running gave me low cortisol. Which could cause asthma. I was treated with diet adjustments, a little iodine (.30mg per day) for fibrosystic breast issues, and some supplements (such as elderberry, and adrenal cortex). I also reviewed my blood work with him to make sure I had no thyroid issues. He wasn't concerned with the labs, nor was my regular doctor. Now, after reading all the posts on this group, I am beginning to rethink my labs and wonder if iodine may help asthmatic reactions, or possibly desiccated thyroid.Other symptoms:-always tired in afternoon-weak Immune system - constant colds that hold on for a long time, usually takes antibiotics to get rid of.-exercise - anytime I exercise sore throat starts-hair loss - more than usual in last 6 months-history of ovarian cysts/fibrocystic breasts-cough in morning and in night (weak feeling in lungs at night, flemy cough in morning that needs to be cleared and then fine all day)-moody and depressed feeling during monthly period (for the last 3 months). Also your symptoms sound like low thyroid. You also need to do the antibodies tests, you need both of these as there are two different ones. A positive test for antibodies means Hashimoto's, which is the most common type of hypothyrodism. A full thyroid series always includes these, I don't know why your alternative doc did not. You need to test your adrenal function to know exactly what shape your adrenals are in. The best test is done with saliva, 4 times in one day, on a typical type day for you, not a rest day. If you have adrenal fatigue you need to treat this first or at the same time as low thyroid, if you only treat thyroid and ignore weak adrenals you will get worse. The first step is to test and then treat adrenals. A good site for these issues is: realthyroidhelp.com Wayne--

Guest guest
Hi sheila, sorry just in case there was. I'm probably a bit over zealous with this dyspraxia/AS thing because my daughter under going her assessment and like a dog with a bone wanting to get to bottom of it. I can actually feel the rage building up inside if there has been a link proven and just conveniently ignored or evidence to suggest such and nothing done about it.Also that coupled with the fact sitting about like wet weekend- no pun intended- whilst house still in chaos. Guest guest
What is a one off urine test? Steph Test Hi, just wondering whether a one off urine iodine sample has much meaning? Just had a look through some old tests my holistic doctor did a while ago, and she said I was mildly deficient with a one off urine iodine level of 77. Not sure what this means.. can anyone help? Guest guest
Just a spot urinary iodine test I think? Guest guest
IF it is just a spot test then it is an indication of iodine in the diet and not body saturation. Guest guest
Hi,Is it reliable? That would be neat! Although, I don't really need a test to confirm that I have it, but would like a marker to help me see if I am making progress in getting rid of it. Thanks for sharing the info. Glowing, grace~ Re: test Posted by: "" dieguez.jorge@... dieguez.jorge Fri Sep 16, 2011 6:21 pm (PDT) ,I live in Miami. There is only one test known by me that can showa possible intestinal overgrowth effectively. Candida Immunecomplexes in blood. It can be done by Genova Lab in South Caroline. There are ways to send the sample if you have a Dr who order it. Try to get it..>> Hi Milena,> I wanted to know where you would suggest I go to get tested for yeast?
