Guest guest
Oh..yes..our county's CCBMR/DD family services age limit is up to 6 years old. Hopefully that will change as the need continues to grow out of parents with older children that are finding out their child has autism. Maybe they will have funding for children who missed out back when they were younger. It has to be addressed some way. ~ n PCrawfo1@... writes: n, I am aware of how Medina County spends their CAFS money, and I feel the disbursement is to a degree age discriminatory...I was interested in how other counties are spending their CAFS money so when I speak with MRDD I can compare local counties. Guest guest
n, Medina County chooses to disburse their funds to adults/near adults in work programs......nothing is offered to children whatsoever (feel free to correct me if I am wrong anyone out there) This is what I have been told by my MRDD. My daughter is 2 3/4yrs old and per the MRDD there are no services available for her except speech therapy once a month and OT twice a month (maybe). So I am in the progress of trying to change things if not for my daughters sake, for the sake of any other parents who are coming up the pike.
