Dear all

Am 12 days post op and just been to have my clips removed from THR

wound. The nurse took out every other one and left some in as its

still oozing quite a bit. I did not have a drain in post op and so

wonder if there is still quite a bit of fluid to come out. Has anyone

else had any problems with wound ooze and healing? I have to go back

in 3 days to see if the other half can come out, but there is just one

area that is not healing as well and its around the dimple area of the

hip. I don't normally have a dimple! but as there is still a lot of

swelling I have an added lump on the size of the hip.

Many thanks

Hannah

I had that happen to me and they had to leave mine in for a few more days also. Even after taking all my staples out it still oozed some but they told me to keep it clean with alcohol. Its fine now and I had it done in Oct.

KeimStart the year off right. Easy ways to stay in shape in the new year.

it just isn't healed yet. it will.

my husband didn't have staples. he had internal stiches and 'steri-

strips' which came off by themselves after six weeks. (one at a time).

the swelling will diminish also. (the lump.)

give it some time. perhaps they will bandage the still 'open' part of

the incision.
