Guest guest
Yeah, always travel with an oil can. Speaking of travel, I don't think i mentioned that when I went to Atlanta to visit my son and his family, I said, as usual, when I got to the head of the queue at security, that I had a fake knee. They immediately said will you use the xray machine, and I said sure. It was fast and there was no patting down! Much preferrable, at least to me. Coming home I apparently said it to late, and was frisked. Joan ________________________________ From: " maryanne.waspe1@... Guest guest
Hi : My doc said he did not give cards anymore because they are so easily forged that TSA won't even look at one. Mentioning the knee right away might get them to do the xray and skip the body search - but smaller airports like mine do not have the xray anyway. I didn't mind the body search, the young lady was polite and professional. My husband was watching and said that her snoopervisor was watching her very carefully - I was the first pat-down of the morning - maybe that is why she was being scrutinized? Happy flying! ////Adrienne =============================================================================== On 6/5/2011 9:19 AM, Weal wrote: > I " m preparing for my first plane trip post op July 4th weekend. Guest guest
Hi , The cards do no good. They stop you anyway. Really, the new machines are much better that getting frisked. Just tell them when you get to the top of the queue and they will take care of it. Have fun! Guest guest
I set off the metal detector at the Dallas County courthouse when I reported for jury duty. I was not searched. I asked them why afterwards. They showed me that the red light comes on at the position of your body where metal is detected. The only light I lit up was right at my knee. I had told them going through the detector that I had a knee replacement. in TX

Guest guest
I set off the metal detector at the Arch in St. Louis because of the hardware inserted when I had 7 disks fused in my back. I also have one disk fused in my neck and that was before I had my right knee replacement last October. I have not had an occasion to be scanned since them.
