Guest guest
Hi Charlotte, You might call the American Liver Foundation for a schedule of their meetings, or perhaps they can locate a group in your area. http://www.liverfoundation.org/ In Texas there are a variety of people who attend, anyone with liver disease, pre and post transplants. Most medical centers have separate support group meetings for the families as well as the candidates. I've observed that many times the prospect of a transplant is more frightening for the family than the patient. I think your mom will really benefit from the meetings, I guarantee it will be very enlightening and reassuring for her. If there's no alternative, then I suppose an online group would be the next best choice. I hope this helps.
