Good luck, Lynn. The knee really does have to bend more to make it all

worthwhile.

All the best, Joan

Subject: Knee Manipulation

Has anyone had a manipulation of the knee? If luck isn't with me, I'll be

getting one tomorrow (may have logistics problems). My OS got wind of my knee

situation...on my own, I could only achieve a 70 bend (my PT snitched! LOL!)

even tho she got me to a 90 before I left Monday. I'm back to it being stiff as

a board and still painful, so maybe a manipulation will do me some good.

I know I'll have to have PT 5-10 days consecutively after it.

I'll keep you posted.

I had a manipulation about 14 weeks out as I was only getting 75 degrees bend.

I went through a couple of weeks here I was getting almost 90 and then it got

stiffer. My OS got my knee to 130 degrees under anesthesia. I then went to PT

everyday for 2 weeks and was using a CPM 8 hours a day. I was able to get and

maintain 115-120 degrees. The manipulation to me was not all that painful and

the PT was less painful afterward .

I forgot to report in...my knee manipulation went well.  I just completed 7

straight days of PT and now can reach a 107 flexion.  There's still pain...my

body is stopping me from going further in spite of pushing it.  But maybe

tomorrow is the day I'll hit 110.  3 little degrees only, eh?  :o

My OS told me that my muscle disease, even tho in remission, is most definitely

affecting my rehab.  The doc who did the hip replacement was at a loss to say

that was it...but since I had mine done the old fashioned way...it makes sense

that the already damaged muscles took a hit.

But, so far so good!
