Guest guest
Had my knee replaced in June 2008 with a DePuy RP-F component. It never got " good " and as time went on it got more and more painful. I continued to go back to the surgeon who would take xrays and tell me that they looked " fine " . I moved out of state and saw another ortho who did xrays and immediately suspected a loose femoral comnponent. He checked me for infection (negative) and sent me for a bone scan. The bone scan confirmed his diagnosis. He is sending me to another ortho who is 100 miles from here who specializes in revisions. I'll see him next week. I am tired of pain. Had knee pain for 2 or 3 years before the replacement and now 3 more years since the replacement. And I am tired of fighting for sufficient pain meds to help me function. Sure I could take no meds and just stay in bed all day, but I live in a rural setting and am trying to help my husband who had a major heart attack last year. May I add that this all started with a major auto accident in 1973 ( I was a passenger -- fractured my femur). I have had 9 surgeries on my leg since that time, including an ankle replacement. I have also been told that my " good " knee has now gone bad. It's difficult. I want to blame someone. It never ends.
