Guest guest
Has anyone taken Tramadol up to their surgery date? I will have been taking it for 8 months by the time I have surgery. I tried to go off it a while back and got down to 1/2 pill at night, but if I didn't have that 1/2 pill I had the jumping out of my skin feeling. If it is stopped and replaced with percocet after the surgery I am wondering if I will be jumping out of my skin, which I don't need. Anyone have experience with this? Guest guest
I am taking tramadol post-op because i have a bad reaction to hydrocodone. I haven't had any dependency issues. you might try to keep weaning by going to a quarter dose. But I think all the opiods including percocet could cause problems. Guest guest
Hello, after my THR I was put on Tramadol I was on it for about 4 weeks but didn't effect me like you said happen to you, then when I didn't need it anymore I could take Percocet now and then. Guest guest
I would suggest talking with your doctor about this, and then maybe taking a 1/4 at night and so on, If percocet isn't in the same family of meds that tramadol is, I would assume you would have the same effect you are having now when stopping it... Its really not something you can do on your own. So hang in there and get some help. -- tramadol question Has anyone taken Tramadol up to their surgery date? Guest guest
Thanks, I spoke to the pharmacist and she said that Percocet is much stronger than Tramadol, and may or may not overcome that jumping out of skin feeling. I also checked online and it is a pretty common side effect of Tramadol, you have to be weaned off it. > > > ** > > > > > > I am taking tramadol post-op because i have a bad reaction to hydrocodone. > > I haven't had any dependency issues. you might try to keep weaning by going > > to a quarter dose. Guest guest
Percoset makes me feel very nervous / jumping out of my skin - had it several years ago for a hand injury. I was in the hospital in May and was given Percoset - serious respiratory depression and I actually passed out about 12 hours later and they had to reverse it with naloxone. Your mileage may vary, but I will NEVER again take Percoset! Betsy (LTHR 6/08) tramadol question Has anyone taken Tramadol up to their surgery date?
