Guest guest
Hi Heidi. Sorry you're flaring too. I hope you feel better soon. Here's some information regarding endometriosis, pregnancy and celebrex. There are not a lot of studies regarding celebrex and pregnancy, but there is a warning for taking it later in the pregnancy. Other autoimmune diseases that are seen somewhat more frequently in women with Endometriosis and in their immediate families include Rheumatoid Arthritis, Lupus, Multiple Sclerosis, and Meniere's disease. http://www.infertilityphysician.com/endometriosis/heredity.html http://www.endometriosis.org/html/press_release.html http://www.fwhc.org/endo-nwhn.htm Also here is some prescribing information about celebrex and pregnancy: In late pregnancy Celebrex should be avoided because it may cause premature closure of the ductus arteriosus. http://www.nursing.uiowa.edu/sites/PedsPain/NSAIDS/Celebrnt.htm There are a lot of articles about pregnancy and arthritis: http://arthritis.about.com/cs/preg/ I hope this helps. a On Mon, 17 December 2001, " Heidi Steppe-Hoareau " wrote: > > Hi there everyone! > I have been keeping up on the posts, just not finding the time to write > anything of substance! > I'm still on my baby mission - went to see a new gynaecologist since my old > one has been telling me just to " make love not babies " for over 18 months > now and doesn’t seem to be in the least bit interested in my various > plumbing problems. Guest guest
Hello, My name is Therese and my son is Xander and we live in the western suburbs of Cleveland. My son is 3 yrs. old and we're just starting down the road of diagnosis. The Neurologist is suspecting mild autism, ADHD, or mild MR. He also has a speech delay and pronunciation problems. We started Speech Therapy in January and he is improving at remarkable speed, but I still can't understand him about 25% of the time so you can imagine what it's like for others. He was kicked out of 2 daycares in 7 months, due to tantrums, inability to follow directions, and aggressive behavior towards teachers and children. The second daycare led me to looking at mild autism, the director had a son with the same problem and recognized certian behaviors. Before that noone wanted to listen to the concerns I had, stating he was too young and these could still be normal, age appropriate issues. I've been raising my son alone for the last 2 years and until May 2004 had worked full time and gone to school full time. I'm home with him for the summer and struggling to find some help for both of us. I am engaged again, and believe it or not, pregnant. My fiance just moved in with us and it's so nice to have an adult to talk to and help when he can. Right now I'm looking for a new Psychologist, ours is resigning. and I'd love any input or advice. I also would love to hear about any Neurologists people would recommend. Thank you, Therese__________________________________________________
Guest guest
Hi Therese, Welcome to a great group and congratulations on your pregnancy, My name is Andi and I have 2 boys, Corey 12 (nt) and Ben 6 (asd). Ben was dx'd about three years ago and I remember how frightening and confusing the whole procedure can be. Just remember to take deep breaths and take one day at a time - lol. We live in Akron, and have a spectacular neurologist, Nevada who works out of children's hospital. I would (and do) recommend her to everyone. As far as help now, I would suggest you contact your local county MRDD, and ask for the intake office. I don't think they can start your services until you have a medical dx, but they will be a good source of information. Also, contact your local school district and see if they do EI. It may be that they do it through MRDD, I don't know your county rules. If your child is on the spectrum, then you are entitled to Early Intervention as well as any therapies (speach, occupational, etc) through the school district. The school district may tell you there is nothing they can do until school starts back, but they are usually back in their offices the first week in August, so you can certainly start the ball rolling. I think MRDD would be the place to start though and I hear that Cleve Clinic also has an autism clinic that can do an MFE and give a medical dx, but I'm afraid I don't know what their waiting lists are like. If you do end up on a waiting list, it is worth calling them at the begining of every week to see if there have been any cancellations also, this is what I did and was seen within 2 weeks instead of 7 months. (Ben got his dx in Oregon) Hope this gives you a good start. If you want to ask any questions, don't hesitate. Let us know how things go. andi --- therese taylor <firedjinnx@...> wrote: > Hello, > > My name is Therese and my son is Xander and we > live in the western suburbs of Cleveland. Guest guest
Hi Therese! Wow, you have a lot on your plate! Congratulations on your soon-to-arrive bundle of joy! I have 3 preschoolers (at least 'til the fall) and while 3 definitely are a handful, each one has been a blessing to me. I'm sure your new arrival will be a blessing as well. I'm afraid I have no leads on psychologists, but I loved the neurologist who dx Bobby - Dr. Margaret McBride @ Akron Children's Hospital. I hear that Akron Children's has other pediatric neurologists who are excellent. One is part of the Akron Chapter of the ASA. Please let us know how things go. mom to Bobby (5, ASD), Ian & Yoli (3 & 1, NT) ----- Original Message ----- From: therese taylor Sent: Friday, July 23, 2004 3:13 PM Subject: [ ] hi everyone! Guest guest
Hi Therese, I'm in the process of putting together a list of Doctor's and services. I wouldn't recommend the Neurologist I had my son diagnosed with because he was in old frame of mind with autism. I hope to find a good neurologist with specialty to the new autism to add to our list. I'll be seeking one. Did you get the file from our site for Doctors and services when you first joinned? I'll send you a copy if you need it, it has a pediatric dentist and a DAN doctor listed. So far the list is very small and over time I hope to make it a long one. ~ n firedjinnx@... writes: I also would love to hear about any Neurologists people would recommend. My son is much more calm and cooperative with the interventions we've used to help our son. Have you read the book "Treating Autism" parent stories of hope and success? that book will be so much help to you as there is 31 parent stories with how they helped their children with interventions. There are also recommendations from doctors who specialize in autism in that book. You can order the book through amazon.com and I've also submitted a copy to our CCPL library system but it isn't cataloged yet. Our storie is published in that book and i have it on our website too if you'd like to read it. Here is the link: "Becoming Aware of Our Son's Autism" God bless you and your family. Congradulations on your pregnancy. ~ n
