Guest guest
My sister lives in Emeryville and wants to be evaluated for hip pain and possible dysplasia. She is 53 and I am her younger sister (51). I had a total hip replacement on my left hip a couple of weeks ago (live in WI) for severe arthritis and they found dysplasia when they got in there. My sister is not as bad off as I was as she's still walking without pain, etc. She feels pain in her joint at night, or after working out, lifting plants, etc. My questions is, how did you find Dr. Peatman? I believe he would be an option for my sister as Oakland is close to her. She's going to her general M.D. for a start next week, but surely she'll end up with an ortho eventually. > > Hello, I am having the new anterior approach total hip (right side) replacement by Dr. Peatman in Oakland, CA this Tues., the 19th. I have watched that video of the procedure many times, and finally I am ready. Apparently there are no movement precautions for this one, and I ought to be up and walking almost immediately! I have been reading this group's postings for a year now, and I want to take this opportunity to thank all of you for all the great support and advice. I will be back to report how it went, and also because I will be needing TKRs next. Best wishes to all of you, Eileen
Guest guest
Hi! I found Dr. Peatman through a referral to Webster Orthopedic Medical Group http://www.websterorthopedic.com/contact_oakland.htm He is pretty experienced, easy to talk to, the nurses described him as " precise " , and he performs both hip resurfacing AND Anterior Hip Approach http://www.drpeatman.com/anterior/ I interviewed a lot of surgeons, and I am happy with my choice. However, your sister may have different needs or experiences. Best of luck to her, Eileen
