Guest guest
Quite frankly, SaraLou, I've used VCO for over twenty years. I store it on the kitchen floor in a corner, and buy it online from two or three distributors. NEVER has any gone bad! I'd find other things to be concerned about... Guest guest
Oh, I opened it and have started using it, just wondered...Thx for your reassurance, Chuck. I've never had any go bad either but usually I don't have dates or keep a pail this long. I think I may have yet another pail also. I'd bought two with some fire insurance money I got (the old third of a pail might maybe could have had some pail plastic from all the smoke in the house according to the insurance adjustor). Finished it up and ordered. They were leaking when UPS delivered them so WFN said they'd send another just in case the leak meant contamination. I am grateful. I seem to use about 5 gallons every 15 months or so. saralou On 5/18/2011 10:59 PM, cking001@... wrote: > > Quite frankly, SaraLou, I've used VCO for over twenty years. Guest guest
How does one tell if the oil has been extracted using only an expeller process or one that uses chemicals?...I have been using some from an India - Indian market... brand name is 'Swad' ~ there is no info on the jar label regarding the process of extraction nor is it designated as organic or virgin - let alone extra virgin...I only use it on my skin...it comes in glass and I like that...but am concerned it may be less than the really good stuff...iut sometimes has 'granules' in it... d > Summer of 2008 I was blessed with two 5 gal pails of coconut oil. Guest guest
In this case, D, there were labels--and WFN is pretty reputable. slp On 5/18/2011 11:16 PM, Don wrote: > > How does one tell if the oil has been extracted using only an expeller > process or one that uses chemicals?...I have been using some from an > India - Indian market... > brand name is 'Swad' ~ there is no info on the jar label regarding the > process of extraction nor is it designated as organic or virgin - let > alone extra virgin...I only use it on my skin...it comes in glass and > I like that...but am concerned it may be less than the really good > stuff...iut sometimes has 'granules' in it... > d > > > > > Summer of 2008 I was blessed with two 5 gal pails of coconut oil.
