Guest guest
In my previous email, I misspelled thalidomide (I incorrectly wrote phthalidamide). And the manufacturer was the Merrell Company, not Merck. I got the 2 M companies mixed up. Sorry. Anyway, as I was searching for the correct spelling, I came across a video clip of a 1968 interview where they were discussing a settlement with 8 families and the manufacturer. In 1968 (7 years after West Germany informed the FDA that they discovered thalidomide caused birth defects), the manufacturer still refused to admit that their drug caused the birth defects. I truly doubt I will ever officially hear that thimerosal, or any other agent, causes autism in my lifetime. Marotta
