Guest guest
yesterday, i had total shoulder replacement surgery. i also was very nervous about the operation. once i was knocked out, i felt none of the surgery at all. i had received a 24 hour nerve block injection and a pain pump. i went in at 6am for the procedure actual time 7:30 and it was over at 1pm. i was supposed to stay in the hospital, but medicare wouldn't pay for the day. so, i went home with in a sling and prescriptions for percoset, anti biotic, and Valium. I'll follow up with visit to the surgeon's office. The nerve block is wearing off but so far the pain level is manageble.  From: Goldie <starwatch1900@...> Subject: I am New Here Joint Replacement Date: Sunday, March 6, 2011, 5:17 PM  I am new on here, I am told I need a hip replacement but we cant afford one un till I reach 65 and get on Medicare I am 63 I have ins. now but we will still owe a lot , I am really concerned about getting this done, I dont know if I can handle it mentally, I hurt so much now dont know if I can handle the pain of therapy after the replacement I dont know what to do. Guest guest
OMG you are a much braver person than I. I had that pain pump for the day of surgery and the following day and had 3 nights in hospital. I am 5 weeks out from that, having said that it was a revision. -- I am New Here Joint Replacement Date: Sunday, March 6, 2011, 5:17 PM I am new on here, I am told I need a hip replacement but we cant afford one un till I reach 65 and get on Medicare I am 63 I have ins. now but we will still owe a lot , I am really concerned about getting this done, I dont know if I can handle it mentally, I hurt so much now dont know if I can handle the pain of therapy after the replacement I dont know what to do. Last Novemebr I had a heart attack and a stent put in , being in the hospital with all the bad stuff put in my system I am back to square one , and really need help to get my candida under control and loos the 10lbs I gained after quitting smoking, Candida does not allow you to loose weight, sigh. Hope to get some support and tips here Edy
Guest guest
Edy, my two cents is that I started with a colon cleanse to get the gut to start cleaning out. One colon cleanse will not do it all because you've got junk all through your body, but it is a great place to start. I would love to do another one, but I did not like the psyllium husk experience that I had to endure for a month. (If anyone has any other ideas for me here, I am open.) So this keeps me from going back and getting another. But I definitely know the value of a colon cleanse. I really believe that is why, when I followed that with drinking alkalized water, I felt the water working in the the first week. I am also taking MSM from msm-msm.com and wearing magnets every day from biomagscience.com. I don't know if this coconut list has any info on this stuff. I am also part of this list, Crock_Lakhovsky who have been of particular help to me in the area you are in. You can find much info in the archives there on MSM. And I have put a couple posts about my magnet experiences on there, too. I am thinking that my next move is coffee enemas. Make doubly sure you have all of the dangerous stuff out of your diet, or you will be fighting a losing battle. knowthecause.com is another excellent site to resource. Also, here is a good documentary on some dangerous food ingredients. I am thinking particularly about artificial sweeteners and how dangerous they are. http://www.youtube.com/user/NewVideoDigital#p/c/EC234650905C3BE7/30/wvzDHGLEUyw ________________________________ From: " Weldon Williford, REALTOR " <weldon@...> " Coconut Oil " <Coconut Oil > Sent: Mon, April 11, 2011 9:07:04 AM Subject: Re: I am new here I would look up iodine deficiency and candida. MSM would also be great, as sulfur is antifungal. Also everyone, I figured out how MSM kills tumors. Sulfur bonds with acetaldehydrate(think I spelled it right) to form acetic acid which is toxic to tumors. It also opens up the tumor as this alcohol is what blocks the immune system and prostglandins from functioning. -- Sent from my Palm Pre ________________________________ On Apr 11, 2011 8:53 AM, edyd <bizboots@...> wrote: I am new here , my name is Edy and Duncan send me the link to this forum, I am a candida sufferer and using coconut oil also. Further, that few chemicals can create so much havoc in the body as acetaldehyde can. It may interfere with the receptors for acetylcholine which is supposedly the major neurotransmitter in the corpus callosum. Formaldehyde, obviously then, is related to acetaldehyde in the aldehyde chain of chemicals. ..... Guest guest
As in cancer also, the byproduct of fermentation acetaldehyde, blocks the function of the hormone like prostaglandin E2, the anti-inflammatory signaling hormone. This is why using msm to neutralize it followed by a prostaglandin stimulator such as cod liver oil along with a saturated fat which improves this process is important to defeating candida and cancer for that matter. I know all this because my daughters tumors are shrinking and dying, have changed colors since starting msm and I wanted to know why. Took me several days of research, but think I figured it out. -- Sent from my Palm Pre ________________________________ On Apr 11, 2011 2:14 PM, Lew Fong How <drfhlew@...> wrote: CANDIDA ALBICANS AND AN ANTI-FUNGAL PROGRAM Candida Albicans is a form of yeast found in the human body, normally confined to the large intestines. When the three following conditions are met, Candida albicans remains harmless: * a stable population of friendly beneficial intestinal flora are present; * the immune system is strong and intact; * the intestinal pH is maintained in normal balance. THE PROBLEM There are an estimated one million species of fungi, mold and yeast. About 50 of this are considered pathogenic to humans. Most are opportunistic, increasing in numbers during periods of stress, or lowered immune response. Antibiotics kill beneficial as well as harmful bacteria, allowing Candida to thrive. The use of steroid drugs, the pill, alcohol, poor diet full of refined carbohydrates, environmental pollutants, psychological stress all can disrupt the gastrointestinal " terrain " . This depletes the beneficial protective flora, and weakens the immune response. The opportunistic yeast/fungus may then spread and multiply beyond the intestinal tract. One?s health may be further compromised. Researchers estimate that up to 30% of the population suffers from Candida and related fungal conditions. More women than men are affected. Candida is a dimorphic organism, having a chameleon-like ability to change form from yeast to the mycelial fungal form. The yeast like-form is non0invasive, sugar-fermenting organism. The fungal form produces rhizoids (long root-like structures) which are invasive and can penetrate the intestinal mucosa , releasing metabolic toxins, and incompletely digested proteins into the blood stream. This process initiates a series of adverse reactions that may cause tissue damage, and a wide range of problems, including food sensitivities or allergies. THE ENDOCRINE SYSTEM AND THE CANDIDA CONNECTION In this session concerning the endocrine system and the hormones, I would like to focus your attention on the fact that candida in the tissue somehow inhibits the tissue from responding normally to hormones. Hormones are essential to our understanding of the body?s metabolism or normal functioning. Endocrine glands secrete hormones directly into the bloodstream, not just to a special organ; thus these secretions reach every part of the body. Hormones influence the flow of substances through cell membranes and often work together, which means that a hormonal imbalance may interfere with normal body functions. Dr. Orion Truss M.D. states " When tests are done on estrogen levels. Thyroid levels, or other hormone levels and people are suffering from this symptoms, the hormones are there in the bloodstream, but they are not activating any response " Dr. Truss surmises that because of the presence of candida in the tissue, these toxins somehow inhibits the tissues from responding normally to hormones. Cold hands and feet & #0;are common symptom of candidiasis, and yet on a blood test a person will have a perfectly normal thyroid level. This latter concept helps clarify the fact that the thymus which produces T cells to fight disease in the body becomes inactivated by candida albicans, subsequently shutting down the manufacturing of the T cells, thus shutting down the immune system. The connection between the thymus, Vertebrae C1, C2 and candida: C1-2 are the first two vertebrae in the neck area: the atlas and axis. The atlas is called the ?king pin?(most important vertebrae) if these vertebrae are out of alignment, the entire structure will be out. Both of these vertebrae supply the thymus. Through misalignment, nerve flow from C1- and C2 to the THYMUS will affect the function of the immune system. THE CONNECTION BETWEEN THE VAGUS NERVE, THYMUS AND CANDIDA The vagus nerve serves the larynx, trachea, bronchi, lungs, esophagus, stomach large and small intestines and also the THYMUS. If the vagus nerve in some way pressed upon or injured, the nerve flow from this 10th cranial nerve will be lessened which in turn will cut down on the nerve stimulation it sends to the Thymus, causing less production of the T cells to fight disease within the body. THE CONNECTION BETWEEN THE TMJ, THYMUS AND CANDIDA The TMJ is in very close proximity to the Vagus nerve. If the jaw joint is out of alignment this can also lessen the nerve stimulation to the Thymus. Four main acupuncture circuits run through the jaw joint. If these circuits are interfere with through bacteria and infection, this can in turn weaken the jaw causing candida to proliferate(traveling down the Thymus and paralyzing the T cells).
