Guest guest
Jagged and/ or uneven surfaces of bone crashing ontoo bone psin IS intolerable by anyones pain tolerance. I was offerred the TKR surgery by one doc 8 years ago but i declined for reasons stated below. Then when I came in to discuss that 7 year prior offer It was a different story and i was presented with a new set of stahl options ie. try Synvisc or try PT or try Wt Loss etc etc. What happened to that promise I waited 7 years to collect on? I was not wanting to put this Knee off MORE years with Synvisc or another round of Off Loading therapy so Inchose the weight loss and began getting other opinions. Well just when my wt loss was achieved that legs hip joint began to crumble and instead of a well planned new knee I was told by a Hip and Knee specialty orthopedic surgery consultatant that I needed a new hip before i could get rhe new Knee. They do hips before knees when both are needed on same leg. He was right because I was " Wheel Chair Bound " by the time (less than 6 weeks) I couod get in for the THR. L > > > > Not necessarily. Your other knee has to work a bit harder with your bad knee out of commission. When the knee is fixed, the good knee stops bothering you. Usually. I got one knee done almost two years ago. The other one is still fine. It may not be in the future, but for now, I am not planning any further surgeries. > > All the best, Joan > > > > > > > > ________________________________ > > From: Lilla Ross <lillaross@> > > Joint Replacement > > Sent: Monday, October 24, 2011 7:14 PM > > Subject: Re: Pain in other knee after TKR > > > > > >  > > i had my right knee replaced 5 weeks ago. It was in really bad shape, very painful, so i never really noticed my left knee's complaints. But it has had to take up the slack for the right knee and it's not happy. I was told that if one knee needs to be replaced, the other one will too. > > > > > >
