Guest guest
Okay - so this is weird. I had a left THR almost 4 years ago. I have had continued achiness when I walk a lot, but nothing too horrible. Yesterday I was at work and just walking calmly down the hall. All of the sudden the hip started to hurt like crazy! Every step, even just standing. I had a horrible limp and was scared I would do damage to my new knees because of walking so funny. I called my surgeon's office and because of the holiday, the soonest I could see him is next Wednesday. I also figured it would make sense to get x-rays before I saw him (I did that today). However, today my hip was almost back to its' " normal " self! I cannot explain it. I was barely able to walk yesterday and last night and had to use my cane. I am keeping my appointment and went ahead with the x-rays. I was convinced yesterday that perhaps the joint had loosened or whatever. The pain was intense and radiated down the leg and up into the buttocks area. I know it is not " out of joint " as I would not be able to put any weight on it. For those who have experienced it, what kind of pain do you have with a replacement loosening? What else might go wrong? This was not a muscle thing. Thanks! in PA Bilateral TKR - 7/2011 Left THR - 7/2007
